Forge World Painting contest

Allrighty, I know a buch of us just got in a schwack of nice and shiney Forge World items, so what better way to motivate ourselves to paint them up than to have a painting contest.
We'll make the competition for one month with the winner receiving a free Control challenge issue. You won't receive any stategic points, but you get the ability to issue a challenge for free.
Anyone not in the league who wants to participate may also do so (primarily Scott) although you'll get no prizes.. but of course bragging rights.
We'll post WIP in our own respective blogs in the painting area If you don't have a blog started, feel free to start a new one. Actually, what I'll do is create a new thread for the painting contest and everyone can start their own thread. After a month I'll gather up the finished entry pictures and we'll poll off for the winner. Deadline will be starting from this Wednesday with an end date of Nov 25th. Hopefully we can get everyone to bring their entries down to league niught that Wednesday and show off the entries in person.

No handicap Im afraid, but everyone who does participate and FINISHES their piece will get some league strategic points.

Do i have to paint forgeworld? I didn't order anything on the last round so have nothing from them.

Do you want a DKoK Rough Rider? I could trade you for that MaxMini resin Dwarf you got way back, if you didn't paint it yet.

You've got a set of Thousand Son doors .. strap that on a rhino and your good to go!
Fair has nothing to do with it.. Ive tried to have fair contests in the past and no ones participated.. so Im just going to do contests I know some people will particiapte in... I think I can get some people into this one... hopefully.

I'd still like that Dwarf, if you want to trade or sell it. 'Cause guess what? GW put the clamps on that mini as they said it was IP infringement. What a shocker!
I got the imperial navy pilot guy from a thunderbolt, if you wanna swap for that? I was going to try and paint that pilot dude up as an imperial naval advisor, but I kind of lost my interest in that fig.

It is identical to a piece of artwork in the dwarf army book. I'm sure you know that already.

Cool, we can hook up whenever you want. Funny thing about that dwarf fig was the company MaxMini was trying to defend it so badly on the boards. GW just sent them a letter I guess saying "Please destroy all existing masters and reproductions of this mini." and they did. Or said they did anyway.
-Holy smokes are you getting a deal! That's the limited GD model, they go for 30 bucks or so on eBay. Well done Mr. Glover, very shrewd! I just can't see me ever painting that fig up any time soon.

i didn't realize that a set of doors validated the whole vehicle for the painting. Thanks SC. I'll working on that tonight.

Id really like to paint up my great spined beast for this competition, but i can find no valid reason to do so. I cannot use it in any list i can think of, and i feel that if im spending time painting it should be for a new army. Which of course is another issue. I will not be able to do guard, as i will not have remotely enough funds to cover the cost of that army. Not really sure what my options are for another army, based on my budget constraints. Sorry, im on a thread jacking spree today.

You can use the spined beast for a Greater daemon in a chaos list.. even a daemon prince wouldnt be far off. Although, you already use your giant chaos spawn for that dont you?
Youve got a good jump on a chaos daemons list.. with all your daemonettes. SPined beast can be a numbers of things in that list! The good thing about chaos daemons is you could fill in the rest of the army with some good cheap plastics..
Im sure this is all pretty much stuff you thought about..
