~THE GARDENS OF ISHA, 2016 new summer league begins, May 1st!!~

Its that time bois, lets start this summer off with a bang!

This league will run for 12 weeks, (followed by league playoffs).

The league fee will be $5 (form to sign up will be at the den starting sunday), which will tie into league prizes!

This is going to be a semi-narrative style league, with 3 teams vying for control of a map (map TBA).

The Gardens of Isha, or "Sehu'la'cru-annath il'isha" in the eldar trading tongue, is a near-mythical ancient Eldar Maiden-world. before the birth in the elder chaos god Slaanesh, and the destruction of the Eldar Crown-worlds via his/her psychic birth-screams, The gardens of Isha were located fairly close to the center of the Eldar empire.
Ostensibly the world of the Goddess Isha, ordo-xenos Inquisitorial agents now believe this world was actually a research station for highly advanced terraforming techniques the Eldar developed to create the maiden-worlds the Imperium has discovered scattered around the galaxy. The Eldar, by some vast technological witchery unknown to Imperial scholars, managed to 'push' this technological treasure-world into the webway shortly before the Fall, thus saving it from the ravages of She-who-thirsts.
In the closing months of the 41st millenium, A sudden warp storm, localized near the Gates of Vaul, in the Segmentum Ultima exploded into reality, only to dissapear as quickly as it arrived. Floating in the outer ring of a massive gas giant at the center of the anomalous storm was a huge webway gate, of massive scale unseen in millenia.
An adeptus Mechanicus explorator ark was dispatched, along with Inquisition representatives, Astartes units and other Imperial agents from the shipyards at Dolumar to investigate. As quickly as the Imperium could respond, the Foes of mankind were making all speed for the warpgate.
Eldar fleets, Tyranid bio-ships, Necron Tombships, Chaos warfleets and even an Ork Waaagh were observed to be quickly closing in on the new discovery. What they discovered, on a verdant world just past the portal, would change the fortunes of all involved, and even the face of the Galaxy itself!"

FIGHT!!!!

Now, lets talk system!

I will have a simple system for capturing territory from the map I am working on.

This means that if you want to capture more territory or treasures for your team, you can challenge other teams. If you couldn't care less, you'll be assigned a team, and it will affect the outcome, but you dont need to worry about that, you can play 40k how you would like!

Couple of things to go over:

TEAMS: If everyone who would like to be part of this league could please post below that they would like to play, i will be then assigning teams (no, you cannot pick your team). Once on a team, it would help if someone could volunteer as a team leader, to help organize your teammates and keep the energy up!

TEAMS ARE NARRATIVE SPECIFIC, NOT RACE/FACTION SPECIFIC.

I have the reporting form up, you can start reporting your games as of May 1st, this sunday!

Every 2 weeks, I will be doing a short update on campaign map, along with narrative lore to make things interesting!

If you would like to help out with the story, art or anything, please PM me!

Posted-up batreps will be also included into the fluff, so feel free to take pics and/or just write up a quick rundown of particularly cool battles, and I will get your characters involved in the story!

OLDHAMMER:

Each time you play oldhammer during a game (both sides) you earn a point! This means you dont have to play oldhammer, it just helps a tiny bit!

Oldhammer rules:

-1500 pts
-no formations or formation detachements of any kind*
-No forgeworld units of any kind

*if your codex requires you to play with another army (non-CAD lists) like Admech, harlequins etc, you can ally with one additional force of CAD or previously stated detachements.

example: Codex Admech:skitarii could ally with Codex Admech: Cult mechanicus, but not with an additional 3rd force. Eldar could ally with Harlequins, but not also with dark eldar.

You can play any army you want, and you don't need to use the same army every time (tho that would help build the narrative!)

Would pick one or the other. I just meant from an evening out the team point of view.

Leaning towards Grey Knights since they are mostly painted. Also not nearly as stupid since my Iyanden has bunches of str D weapons at 1500 points. Seems dirty.

I'm in for sure, and I'll be bringing my 'Nids. Can't wait.

You know what? I'll give this a whirl too. Though, with life my times to play are small.
I like this old hammer idea, though does that prevent me from taking the "Baal Strike Force" detachment? Or do I have to adhere to a CAD and lose that +1 init Blood Angels get for being in a BSF?
