found this on an italian fan forum, it explains the tournament packs and what size of event each is meant for.  useful, since they don't explain that in the CB store page.  something for us to maybe think about doing for all the new players starting out in saskatoon?

Starting The Infinity Tournament System

Infinity Tournament System is the tournament system and organized play format for Infinity. This system includes an International Ranking in which the score of all participants will be reflected.
Infinity Tournament System has been designed so all distributors, hobby shops, associations, and players can organize official tournaments and participate in the International Ranking system.

Who can organize an official Infinity tournament?

Shops, distributors, associations, and players that wish to popularize and enjoy Infinity.

What’s needed to arrange an Infinity Tournament and for it to be considered official?

The game is official on the condition that a tournament pack is purchased, and the tournament control sheet included in the pack is filled out with the results and sent to Corvus Belli - this will be the final certification of the game.

Infinity: Organized play. Organizing a mini-Tournament

Mini Tournaments have been developed for players who are unable to attend an Official Tournament in their area, but would like to enjoy Infinity at home, and still have access to some of the advantages of an Official Tournament.

Who can organize an official Infinity Mini-Tournament?

Any individuals who want to enjoy playing Infinity competitively.

What is needed to arrange an Infinity tournament and for it to be considered official?

The Tournament is considered official as long as the Mini-Tournament Pack is purchased.
Final certification of a game is given on sending the provided tournament control sheet to Corvus Belli.

Infinity: Organized play. Rules, restrictions and the role played by the Organizer and the Players.

What restrictions are applied to official tournaments?

• You must buy a Tournament Pack or an Official Mini-Tournament Pack.
  
• All miniatures used by the players must be part of the Infinity range produced by Corvus Belli.
  
• All miniatures must faithfully represent their unit, including its equipment, or main military hardware.
  
• If the miniature doesn’t exist in the Infinity collection, it can be replaced by another miniature from the range, making sure your opponent is aware of the characteristics of the unit it represents.
  
• The use of converted miniatures is permitted as long as most or all of the main miniature is made up from Corvus Belli miniature components.
  
• The use of original miniatures, which faithfully represent Infinity’s troops, is permitted, as long as they are not sold by any other company.
  
• The miniatures must be assembled with at least their main parts present (it is not strictly necessary for them to include the smallest pieces, such as antennae).
  
• The miniatures must be mounted on the base they were supplied with, or a base of the same dimensions, because it can have an effect on some aspects of the game such as hand-to-hand combat. For the Haqqislam Maghariba Guard, supplied without a base, we recommend the use of a round 80 mm/4 inch in diameter base.
  
• The use of mercenaries or mercenary armies is not permitted, as the Ranking has been set up to take into account the commanders of each different army, who must enforce the strong points of their troops and resolve problems arising from their weak areas. The use of Sectorial Armies is allowed, because those are official army lists.
  

What is the role of the Organizer?

• To write out and distribute the tournament rules they want their players to participate under, emphasizing the number of points needed to play battles as well as possible specific backgrounds they want to develop.
  
• To make sure that the army lists are legal and fulfil the rules concerning the number of points and any other special Tournament rules which the Organization might have included. For that purpose, we offer the ARO program and also the Army from the Devil Team, which will save players time and will make checking lists easier for the Organization. This program can be downloaded free of charge from www.infinitythegame.com
  
• To monitor the compliance with the restrictions applied to Official Tournaments.
  
• To act as or in support of the referee during the tournament. Acting as a fair manager of the tournament results, these are sent on to Corvus Belli so that the Ranking remains a faithful reflection of the results and achievements of the players.
  
• To register new players.
  
• To fill out the Tournament Control Sheets with the results and send it to Corvus Belli.
  

What is the role of the players?

• To comply with the rules laid down by the Organizers and to abide by the decisions of the Organization and the Referees, complying with all the rules of the game.
  
• To respect their teammates and visitors, and to not forget that Infinity is a game where the object is having fun!

Tournament Scenarios

One of the great news this season is the introduction of official tournament missions.

Winner Pack

Every Classic Tournament Pack contains a Winner Pack, that substitutes the old trophy that came in the Classic Tournament Packs in the previous seasons. The Winner Pack is a box with exclusive prizes for the winner, and contains the following:

• 1 Max Skorpio, Authorized Bounty Hunter miniature
  
• 2 Limited Edition pins
  
• 1 Micro Art Studio resin base
  

This will be the only way to get this version of the Max Skorpio, Authorized Bounty Hunter miniature during this season. Once the season ends, it will be replaced in the Winner Pack with another exclusive miniature for the next season, and an alternative version of Max Skorpio will be released in the store.

Spec Ops Tournament

In this season we introduce a new and very expected tournament format: the Spec Ops Tournament.
In this format, the players can field Spec Ops with 12 Experience Points with their army lists for all the tournament. It’s perfect for the neŠ¾_»And don't forget that extra wound that Achilles is packing! I'd say that wounds are one of the most valuable stats in the game.º¾`»October 3rd weekendœLooking for a game Friday after work (5 o'clock onwards) or pretty much any time Saturday.
