So, the big tidbit from the last few days is the new psychic discipline, Daemonology.

Sounds awesome to me, but apparently open to .. more or less everyone? The example had Ezekiel summoning a bloodthirster.

8 million dollars says new greater daemons on the way.

If Thousand Sons Sorcerers can pop into greater daemons, I can see Tzeentch marines getting good.

On one hand this sounds awesome for chaos, on the opposite it is stupid for guard and marines.
Don't guardsmen go insane when seeing daemons? And don't the grey knights kill/mindwipe anyone who sees daemons?

We'l have to see how it plays out for each army. I don't imagine it will be the same for everyone. Maybe some canon changing rules?

Wasn't there something floating around out there earlier suggesting that certain armies/characters would be "daemonbound", and thus incur less risk when using this school of magic?

The Ordos Malleus kills any regular humans who see Grey Knights/Demons. Other space marines or "valuable" assets are instead mind wiped.

The only exception being the first war for Armageddon. The Space Wolves intervened and as a result there were a fair number of guard to continue on to other warzones/systems.

and that didn't stop the inquistion if memory serves. technically the wolves doomed several worlds where the guardmen fled to. And aren't eldar crazy anti daemon? Something about summoning a really big one that wiped out most of their race?

The past doesnt matter.. whats important now is selling greater daemons.

You know this wont matter. Everytime i play marines.. theyre gonna summon a bloodthirster no problemo.. while im playing chaos all khorne.. ill fail everytime,.. i know it !

Im curious though about all the powers.

It did indeed condemn a lot of worlds, but some did end up escaping. Even with the aid of their allied chapter (Red Hunters I believe) they didn't get all of them. Although I'd have to re-read "the emperor's gift" by ADB.

Eldar were so decedent in their past that their collective warp energy birthed slannesh. Who finds them super tasty. The purpose of spirit stones is to keep the eldar soul from entering the warp where it would be instantly gobbled up by slannesh.

Because they are doing a kickstarter and haven't started selling in their normal store? That's my excuse.

They did, its just mislabeled.

They call it a Balrog, and put it in a LotR box.

Funny enough, I actually have a plastic balrog. Fully painted too (used to get his ass kicked in games of lotr), but not the same thing! I want skulls, armor, furry body, and a big ol dogface, like the classic thirster.

i converted a Ral Partha minotaur into a thirster back in the 90's. When i got back to 40k, i realized hes now smaler than a DP.

of all the creature caster models, i want the thirster. its just beautiful.
