Special characters

So I notice that special characters no longer need a certain sized army in order to field anymore... Does this Bleed into the older codexs too? All my special characters state I can only take them in armies of 1500 points or more... Would that rule be lifted for the league or anything so armys that have points restrictions could still "keep up" and take a special?

If you get your opponents permission, anything is possible, however since everyone is so friendly in the league you probably won't get anyone speaking up against it. However, points values, composition, army style, etc. is also very different now so older codexes aren't neccessarily balanced with those things in mind. Is this for the Blood Angels? What special character did you want to take in a game less than 1500 points? That'll be a big percentage of your army tied up into one guy.

I took 250 point ahriman in a 1500 point game and he destroyed 2/3 of my opponents army so it could be worth it.

Its not for my blood angels
Its for my tau. All of their specials need 1500pts minimum to field
