Nothing is Safe..

Hmmmm... I wonder what they are hinting at in "Nothing is Safe" teaser trailer..... LOL!!!!

Hopefully it will be a good codex.....nothing crazy broken that you "HAVE" to take the unit, but nothing so crappy that it will "NEVER" be in a list.....but then again, that is my hope for every new codex. We shall see....

All the new kits are up for pre-order now, so the high res photos of the kits are available for us to look at now.

Sadface that the primarius power is dominion for an extra 6" of synapes. Very disappointing in terms of doing something creative. I suppose we'll have to see how the rest of the power stack up.

Well when you compare it to other primaris powers (prescience, psychic scream) it doesn't really stack up. When they re-write codecii it gives them the opportunity to do new and creative things (like balance powers) and I had never seen anyone cast dominion before so I guess I'm just a little disappointed. Especially since if the other powers are similar I know that I'd just be back to swapping for Biomancy on a lot of stuff.

Well they have 1/2 of the text listed (its partially showing under the psychic cards) it doesn't appear so.

last i heard synapse range had been reduced to 6", and certain Full units (warriors), while being a full unit, extended the range to 12", so moving up to 12 for other units would be most helpful, yes not quite as hurty as some other primaris, still very useful

is synapse really that important anymore?

i've only played like 10 games against nids in the last two years, but i can't remember a single one where synapse played a major roll. hell sometimes being out of synapse was a bonus as stuff got rage for free.

They still shoot if they have line of sight to something.

Other than that I've had the odd group of gaunts get out of range. Usually though if you are short synapse the game isn't going well (or your list was poorly designed).

The White Dwarf talks about synapse being more important because if you have gribblies out of range the result can be much harsher.

Or perhaps something where they will attack closest unit (friend or foe) if they are out of synapse.  Kinda like a new version of instinctive behavior.  

It is kind of something that you can control, by always being further away then the enemy from the instinctive unit, but the enemy could use against you if they were clever.    

This, of course, would make lurking biovores behind your lines even worse....lol.
