I've always wondered about the effectiveness of the different Leman Russ variants. I bet just by forcing so many saves each turn it would perform quite well, depending on your opponent of course.

edited for a question: What would you do to Land Raiders and such? I notice a lack of decent anti-armor.

Love the idea, but a few suggestions.

I would make all the power weapons power axes rather than swords. Losing the initiative points is worth it.

Also, notable lack of anti tank. Add in a manticore, they beat up lanraiders even.

Drop the vox casters, they are too expensive and annoyingly increase the chance of breakdown in communications.

Make a company command squad with standard bearer. Will make the army ld 10 with a reroll.

I dunno, it seems like a lot of ppl are playing fewer vehicles. He's Prolly got enough vs light armor, Necron AV 13 spam will give him fits tho. Maybe break up the HW squads and put the teams in the reg infantry squads and make melta specialists? How much more would that be?

I dunno in my 1750 list (I'll post it in a minute) I have 3 AV 13 hulls plus 2 riptides which basically requires a lot of AP 2 to reliably deal with (the riptides that is). True the Riptides are susceptible to mass flash guns, but with 72" range I think I might be able to avoid them.

Swapping the HW teams for melta special weapons squads, then dumping the HW in the Infantry squads (changing them to LasC) would be close to a wash, while adding anti-tank.

There is a scary amount of anti-horde on the board with this. A Green tide or Tyranid guant swarm will get eaten up..... But its very static. Even 3 chimeras or 2 and aValk would add a lot, and would cost at most, 1 russ.
