6th books

Darren was saying the books are due in today. Im hoping to grab one before headng to the farm this weekend.. So if anyone is by there and sees them.. Post it here.

On a somewhat related note, does GW just hate it's Canadian customers or something? $90 for the same book that people are paying $60-70 for state-side. Exchange rate doesn't explain it in the least, as a Canadian Dollar is only off of the American Dollar by a ratio of 1:0.981258 currently.

Theres no point debating price differences between here and the states.

They charge more here because they can.. It sucks.. Yup. That being said.. Things have gotten better on pricing ove rthe past few years..

Just standard edition books at the den so far.

I had him pre-order me a gamers edition and none arrived. Fairly bummed about that.

does the preceding quote say what i think it does? i havent noticed anywhere else in the codex where it implicitly states that you use the toughness before modifiers ala 5th edition

Bike lords, Nurgle lords, dudes on beasts. not getting insta-gibbed by pfists, missiles or lascannons? i'm, all, over, that.

also: multi-assaults simplified = win. (or lose for the assaulter, considering you lose your +1 attack, AND get snap fired by everyone and their dog)

Although Tom, for us Necrons, I don't think it matters. (5+ jink save for virtually everything)

A Necron Lord with Sepiturnal Weave stands at the front of all my foot units. Why? Every shot is resolved against him until he dies. Best 50 points you can spend, only gotta make 3 saves to pay for yourself.

2+ saves are soooo much better now that power swords are ap3

Tyranid harpies can shoot and swoop? They are now viable!

Fliers and mc fliers are suweeet

Nightscythes- whoooo boy. Only flier transport I can see being safe enough.
Your Valkyrie or storm raven gets taken out and by by troops inside.

power weapon/axe/mace rules going to take a long time to get used to... and a lot of re-modelling of certain models. I assume that i will be paying the same price for all of these on CSM termies... but what i have modelled and what i WANT are probably two different things.


.... Gorechild is a power AXE... Kharn now has +1 str, ap2, but strikes at I1. Which changes him significantly.

Power axes are unwieldly? .. whats the point of having an axe vs. A power fist?

I didnt think axes went at init 1.. but what do i know..

Hopefully we'll see a chamge for.him in thw new book.. He dowsnt need more str.. But he needs more init.

However.. All his buddies will get to go before he kills a few off.

I have a chaos lord with a khorne daemon weapon modelled.. (axe).. This actually might be a useful dude now. +1 str wirh the flyimg bonuses... Ill have to paint those kjorne raptors but it seems like it might be a useful unit now.. Especially if im goi g to be brining a few otjer flying umits.

Two things that change the game for me:

"our weapons are useless" rule: seriously? So you get assaulted, you can choose to lose combat?

only if you have no chance, however small, of hurting whatever assaulted you.
Thats going to be pretty rare. only things i can see is squads with no krak grenades being assaulted by a walker or High toughness MC. (note that you can krak grenade MC's now)

I agree, however. its going to suck for the assaulter to have his "cover unit" run away, and then have to stand there and get shot up in the subsequent round.
