Shavaar - newer player in Saskatoon - Necrons

I am an old guy (40ish), lots of kids (7), amazing wife (Sarah), try to play once in a while with my friend Todd, live in Saskatoon. Recently started collecting my own Necron army. Almost finished painting, just need to complete my doomsday ark and pick up some kind of overlord. I haven't actually played with the Necrons yet. Hoping to play a game or two once in a while. Maybe tournaments. Alas with seven kids I am very busy and won't be able to accept any challenges. What I would rather do is post a day and time and put challenges out there, open to takers; but none yet. I hope to check HotW regularly and see what is going on.

I also happen to play Necrons. Coincidences abound :-)

Please tell me you run a different color scheme than Lore does, that would just be too freaky.

As a fellow Cron player, I would recommend the Command Barge kit, as not only is it a decent transport, it can also be rigged up as a gun platform and comes with a plastic Overlord. The only other way to get a plastic one down at the Den would be to snag a Vampire Count's Carin Wraith and do some minor conversion work/paint it the same as the rest of your army.

I am sticking with a pretty basic factory line necron colour scheme, black, silver, green. I do like your advice about the catacomb command barge and will probably take one of those. I originally was going to go with the basic overlord, then though of Imotek (lighning bolt guy), but now I think I may lean toward barge to start. Thanks for the advice.

Imotehk can be fun, but he's rather inconsistent. Personally, I want to see what happens to Deep Strike in 6th, as it might make Flayed Ones viable with him.
