I like it better than the original, and it doesn't run into the size issues a LS conversion or tempest does.

That said, what did he use for the wings? Looks vaguely like the tail of the crashed Aquila lander... or is it off a valk or SRaven?

Either way, a million times better.

he gave me the link to his blog where he explains how he did it: http://miniaturewargameconversions.blogspot.com.au/2012/06/wip-storm-talon-conversion-redscorps.html

the wings on the engines are the main vertical tail fin of a storm raven clipped free of the tail and attached to the engines.

redscorps - "note the shaved and extended tail (I wanted to use the original but it didn't get removed well), the lack of a bulky and unattractive front end through the use of a StormRaven Typhoon Missile Launcher mounted on the chin in place of the AC's turret, (cut narrower with a plasticard housing), The StormRaven Assault Cannons mounted on the engines (spaced out with the HB ammo clip from this kit, shaved down and glued on).

I used the previously tail mounted landing gear in the rear, made a plasticard housing as though it extends from the fuselage. Widened the front landing gears stance by mounting them on the previous weapon mount positions. "

Wow that looks great. Sadly I wish that wasn't a conversion, but the kit itself...

Ok while it LOOKS a ton better, a cheaper source of wings would have to be found. He's taken a $60 kit and made it cost $140 to look decent. (He's done a wonderful job of it tho.)

if you buy wholesale, sure. go onto hoard o' bits and the tail piece off the storm raven is $3.99. so $8 gets your new wings. the extended tail he informed me is scratch built with plasticard. so another $4 at hobbyworld for a 18"x32" sheet.

when i have some spare time, i'm going to copy his method and i'll post pics as well.
