We have a date set for this now(Sept. 25) so mark that on your calenders kiddies. Hopefully all the details will be sorted in the next two weeks. No sign up sheet/entry fee/rules/shizaz yet. I'll update this post when thats done. To keep this from getting cluttered please no can/cant make it posts until we figure out how many spots are going to be available

Re: Doubles Tournament(Update)
Update: I'm going to be dropping off a sign up sheet at the den tomorrow for the tournament.
- Eight teams/16 players
- $20/team
- 3 games/team
- 1000pts/player standard FoC chart for each player
Your armies rules will not carry over to your partners(ex vulkan + sisters flamers). I am going to keep an electronic sign up in this topic to track how many players we have. *Note: the paper sign up at the den is the official one, if your name isn't on it your not in the tourney*. When your signed up at the den and your fee is paid please pm me so I can update the list. I would like to encourage players to use different codecies from each other to spice things up a bit. We are still debating a reward for the 2 codecies being logical allies (ex. IG +Witch hunters), type of scenarios we are going to use, and if they will be released before the tourney. I will update this post when we know more. Please post any questions you have in this topic.

Re: Doubles Tournament(Update)
Trying to use this table was annoying me. As far as I can tell we have 6 teams at the moment with Joe(littlehurc) needing a partner still

Matt, I know this tourny is for funnsies, but I would like to note that if you are planning on playing in this tourny as well (as the above would elude too) I'd like to suggest you release all information in advance - structure, scenarios, etc. Just to keep any cries of shenanigans (especially from me!) to a minimal. Since there is dollars on the line

Re: Doubles Tournament(Update)
Well ryan, tom and i are also organizing the tourney and likely playing, so the call for shananigans will be much less potent. but either way it does seem more fair to release all the info.
the reason he hasnt released it is because it isnt decided yet. i'll make sure it is posted here before the weekend. i have all the scenarios here with me, just gotta narow it down to a few from around 30 that i have.

Well greg, shenanigans wasn't really the point (j/king, except to Tom, need watch that guy), moreso fairness. Some people get to know the scenarios and some don't isn't fair.
Not trying to ruffle any feathers here.

I think that emoticon is flamboyantly gay enough for you two to use on each other.

Re: Doubles Tournament(Update)
No, you can't use your teammates transports, you cannot join your IC's to your teammates squads, bonus's do not transfer over to your teammates army.
Example: Your Blood Angels Assault Squad with Sanguinary Priest and your teammates Thunderwolf Cavalry both charge the same unit, putting the Thunderwolves in range of the priests bonus, they do not receive Feel No Pain or Furious Charge because they are not the same army. (This ruling will apply to armies that are from the same codex as well) Your allies army is completely separate and independent from your own army.

Sadly I couldn't get the 25th off work, so my Inquisition won't be making it.

Re: Doubles Tournament(Update)
Well I'll be, I'm free for the Saturday and looks like me and Dana, who also has not played a game in 9 months, will be forming up a team.
Me and Dana are going to for a nicely fluff themed battle force, with his elite members of the righteous Ultramarines pairing up with my bloodcrazed Worldeaters.
I was thinking about bringing some Daemonhunters, but couldn't justify how they'd lower themselves to fight alongside Ultramarines.

Re: Doubles Tournament(Update)
So that leaves room for 2 more teams guys, I know there's some people out there who might not have a teammate to play with yet so post up in here and get things rolling because I just finished the rough draft of the scenarios and it should be a great day of 40k. YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS OUT!

Re: Doubles Tournament(Update)
Mission 1: Trophy Hunting
Deployment:
Players from each side roll a d6 each, the team with the highest total on two dice may choose to deploy first or second. The Team that deploys first picks board edge they would like.
Starting the Game:
The players on the team that deployed first each roll a dice, if the total on two dice is greater than three, then they keep the initiative and take the first turn.
Victory Conditions:
Kill Points: HQ – 3pts, Elites – 2pts, Troops – 1pt, Dedicated Transport – 2pt, Fast Attack – 2pts, Heavy Support – 3pts
In the event of a tie each team will nominate one HQ Independent Character to fight in close combat to the death. (Neither character counts as charging, psychic tests may be taken at the start of the combat) The winner of this duel will break the tie. (This HQ unit does not have to survive the preceding battle)
Ending the Game:
This is a standard game length as detailed in the Warhammer 40k Rulebook.
Mission 2: Conquest
Objective in each your own deployment zone is worth 1pt, the objective in the center of the table is worth 2pts and the objective in the enemy’s deployment zone is worth 3pts.
Ties will be settled by kill points, if kill points are tied victory points will be tallied.
Ending the Game:
This is a standard game length as detailed in the Warhammer 40k Rulebook.
Mission 3: Interrogation
Deployment:
Players from each side roll a d6 each, the team with the highest total on two dice may choose to deploy first or second. Each player deploys their forces by rolling a d6 for each unit and placing them in the corresponding part of the table.
Starting the Game:
The players on the team that deployed first each roll a dice, if the total on two dice is greater than three, then they keep the initiative and take the first turn.
Victory Conditions:
When an HQ model is killed he will remain on the table as an objective, if he is uncontrolled at the end of the game the enemy receives 1pt, if the enemy is in base contact with his body they receive 2pts, if the owning player is in base contact with their own HQ’s body they negate any points received by the enemy player as they have saved him from interrogation.
In the event of a tie each team will nominate one HQ Independent Character to fight in close combat to the death. (Neither character counts as charging, psychic tests may be taken at the start of the combat) The winner of this duel will break the tie. (This HQ unit does not have to survive the preceding battle)

So uhh...
The Den says 10, this says 11, what time do we need to be there?
Also, should we bring two copies of our army lists? Or is one enough?
