Counter Challenge Empty Counter Challenge

Alrighty, as eluded to in the poll I posted, I'm going to try and run another challenge here and see what happens.

The rules are quite basic. Your to build 3 counters for your army. The counters should be themed to a certain army. For example.. Necrons might have some Guass crystals, Chaos might have a pile of skulls, Guard might have some injured soldiers, etc. They can be on any base size, contain whatever you want, there really isn't that many parameters to worry about.

You should be able to take pictures and post them up on the site here. In two weeks, I'd like everyone to post a few work in progress shots, and then two weeks after that have the finished product. So, on month to complete 3 counters.. easiest challenge ever! All counters should be completed by Midnight on Sept 4th.

As for the prize, I have no idea right now. I'll come up with something tangible though.

We'll run a poll at the end and vote for our favorite set.

These counters will help out beyond the contest though, as you'll be able to use them in all your regular 40k games.. so it's well worth the effort!

I'll be working on some Chaos counters I think for this one, since I play them the most. I'd like to play some more Imperial Guard, but I want some of the new tank kits.. so now that they're out I might to bite the bullet and get a Punisher and Banewolf.

My ideas for Chaos counters will probably most certainly take a Worldeater spin. I'll gather up a nice fat pile of skulls for one, maybe a big juicy, gore dripping Khorne symbol for the other one.. and not sure yet for the final one.

What about the rest of you guys?

well i am going to take part in this even if im moving away next week and i am going to do dark eldar markers, havent had any really great idea yet but im brainstorming.

I'm going to take a shot at making three markers. One will be a communications relay, one will be a weapon drop and i'm still pondering the third

sweet something I actually have time for, I'm making a set for my Necrons. Where do we post the pictures to ? Also are we still doing the work in progress shots? since I've got all 3 of my counters modeled and just need to get them painted before the 4th.

If i get time i will submit. i am in kingston for recruit training and won't be home until the 25th. i wont get my WIP photos up obviously but if i get them all painted up in time i will still post the finished product.

How are the counters coming along? Ive got my three made up Khorne style. I've got to finish up a bit of modelling on one tonight then Ill my WIP pictures up. I think this will be one of the few cases where the modelling took longer than the painting. .becasue I'm sure it will take like 30 minutes to paint each one.

So, updates on other peoples counters? Is anyone else making some?

I have 2 counters on the go so far. The first is being modeled and the second one I have the parts picked out and the third im still trying to come up with an idea. Hopefully I can have some WIP pics up on sunday if I can get some work done

Alrighty, got some WIP pictures to throw up finally. I wanted to stick with the Khorne theme of course. I really like the broken aquila model I got a few years back, so I figured what better way to defile than to jam a Khorne banner through it. At the rate the entries are pouring in, I'm on track to not win my own competition, but to be its only entrant.. woo hoo! I hope I can find myself a good prize.

Well i finished building my counters and am about to prime them, unfortunately my kid ate my camera so i can't post any pics.
Don't worry robyn you'll have someone else to give the prize to. i like expensive things btw, oh and make sure you get a card to go with my prize... a little more personal that way. Very Happy
