Re: Ctc results?
Didn't go too bad. Had a lot of ups and downs.
I won my first 2 and lost my next 2. Pascal and Brian had the reverse. Got screwed over on some rules again that should have gone the other way which may have changed my third and fourth game but not by much. Serves me right for not having every little detail memorized. Brian actually did really well for his first tourney, tying my overall score at 19. Pascal scored a 21 overall with some late game heroics putting us all in the middle of the pack. For some perspective the winner scored 32 points and the guy in last place scored 4. The Edmonton guys have gotten a lot better, showing what a league can do for overall skill in a community.
The next tourney is probably Grotscon in Red Deer in April if people are interested in going to that. Pascal and I would also like have a tourney of our own and maybe start a Paradiso Campaign if we can get enough guys (4 would be enough).
ITS 2016 starts Feb 22nd so we'll need to get some practice in for a good showing.

Re: Ctc results?
It seemed like rules might have been an issue. One of the players who was Tohaa didn't realize that symbiont armor provided an extra wound (inactive state).

Re: Ctc results?
There was that outside case but I had some bad rules judgements from the TO who should know most everything.

Re: Ctc results?
I also won best painted! Woop whoop!
Game 1: got outplayed. I made stupid mistakes, and my opponent was better. Very sobering game.
Fought the neoterra capitaline
Game 2: things were looking up, and since I was facing combined I had high hopes. These were quickly dashed by a total reaction remote with plasma rifle and marksmen lvl 2 getting a straight line bead on my entire force first turn, lost 9 models in 15 minutes. Game ended on turn 2, since I was tabled, which actually meant we tied!
Game 3: transmission matrix. Against vanilla aleph= total crushing win. The other guy brought in 2 ad: combat drop hackers, but with the repeater total coverage, I killed both with suckerpunch.
Anathematic rolled everything else
Game 4: supremacy. Tough game! Evenly matched armies, against yujing vanilla. Got super lucky first roll of the game, with my sogorat with feurbach aro- slaying a yan hao with HRMC. 5 shots to 1. And I'm in the -3 to hit, -3 cover. He has just -3 to hit, +3 to range. Yeah Alex was not impressed :p
His sujian transformer early game was dominating, but I managed to get a hacker out of los and immobilize it for all three rounds. Gross.
Learned a lot, got a bunch of haqqislam figs, and won a mini- battle foam bag!

Re: Ctc results?
@ Ian, bummer on the TO calls. Its no good when that happens.
@Paz, awesome on the painting (although not surprised). Transmission matrix is so good if you have solid hackers. I dunno if I like those odds with Yan Hao though. I wouldn't want to trade shots with your fuerbach at just -3. Even with the 5 dice of the HRMC. If you flub the roll the return shot is going to suck (even worse when you crit!).

Re: Ctc results?
Thats interesting that the Tohaa and Aleph players scored towards the bottom (they tend to get whined about on the boards a lot). Although thinking symbiont armor doesn't have an inactive state would probably account for a bunch of the Tohaa player.
Nomads I'm not surprised to see the most of. Between O:IS and their list building ability they are super good right now. And fairly easy to get a solid base for.
What was the MO player using. I've thought about playing the 10man joan+DeFersen+3Hosptilier list a couple of times. Seems a little to much in one basket though.

Re: Ctc results?
IIRC his list was as follows:
5 man Magister link (one with EXP CC and one with missile launcher)
2 Spec Sergeants in TO camo
Dronbot (total reaction HMG)
Father knight (not sure of loadout)
Hacker of some sort
A 5 man Magister link is nuts. Just nuts. So many missiles.

Re: Ctc results?
Yea I've also seen that as well. Although the second you break the link they become much easier to deal with since they are extremely impetuous. Also much more susceptible to hacking attacks.
Wish Tohaa had access to a ML though. Should totally be a Gao-Real loadout

Re: Ctc results?
Yay! i beat Ian. I feel 9th isn't too bad for a first turnout, especially since i still barely know hacking XD. My first game i scored 0/22 so i did pretty decent my other games haha.
The real question is...how come i didnt get any points for my banner?!!

Re: Ctc results?
New ITS season is about to start? I would assume they have frozen the banners for now?
Whats the second set of points in the 0/22?
Hacking is tough between the new rules for it and all of the hacking programs it is hard to keep straight. For Tohaa I honestly don't even know most of the programs/how they work. It would be nice to have another faction that does lots of hacking to force myself to learn.

Re: Ctc results?
Well Ian's banner has stuff on it now before it was 0 like mine so I don't know.
The second number in the scoring is victory points (how many points you have left on the table at the end of the game.)
And I can see my neoterrans/vanilla pano using a lot of hacking stuff so we will get some practice soon I think haha. Also the tohaa player wasn't the best. I am very fearful of them because of their tridents I see how order efficient they can be.

Stupid triads.
Tom, was talking about the fact your scored 0/22 when you can only score 10 per game so you went 0/20 on your first 2 games. Which sounds a lot better, right?

Well considering I got basically 0 for my first game in all respects AND beat you at my first tournament standings I think sounds pretty good XD

Re: Ctc results?
Triads are gross. Being able to basically always get 3 moves per order and a second short skill for one of the models is pretty boss.
Still having issues thinking up a good reaction piece. Debating just getting the chaksa box for the HMG + TRlight dude. Not sure I like the sniper link that I brought last time. I feel Tohaa are kinda squishy. Sure they have some super hard to take down (Neema/Rasail). Then again most of the members of the Triads are just Kamael/Makauls which tend to die pretty easy. So having something that would make my opponent waste a bunch of orders not killing my squishy Triad members would be fantastic.

Re: Ctc results?
Some of those Chaksa combos can be nasty. The neurocinetics HMG is pretty awesome as a backfield defender, and the the FO in link plus smart missile launcher is an under utilized combo.
There's always the Tohaa TAG, just watch out for fire (or use symbiomates).

Re: Ctc results?
The problem I have with the TR-HMG chaksa is that it is bunkum in the active turn. FO plus smart missile launcher is fun no matter who you are!
Bleh on the TAG. Same cost is ~ two Rasail teams. I like the model and think its a neat concept, but Rasails are just so much better (and I own them!).
@ brian -Chaksa are the Tohaa version of Remotes. Since the Combined army has such a hacking/tech advantage the Tohaa basically decided that they would concede that portion of warfare. Instead they have super evolved some nearby species to fill in that role. So they are technically still models with a W characteristic and have skills/equipment to mirror the REM they are supposed to be. For example the Chaksa with neurocinetics and HMG allows him to ARO with full burst (making him like a TR Remote). The downside is that it also forces him to burst one in the active turn. Also Chaksa are not allowed in any links (so far). That privilege is reserved for Tohaa members only since they mostly believe in their own species above others. That's why they have no issue pushing humanity in the way of the CA to slow them down.
