Very obviously, this is your Farsight update.

XV-8 are troops.

Talisman of Athas Molach and Warscraper Drone are back, as are the Eight.

Looks like they get their own Decurion, tho it's hard to tell how it works. Look like a command choice of commander and bodyguard is required, with a choice of core between Hunter Cadre and Retaliation Cadre.

This also appears to be your guard update, with a tactical deck for Cadians, and a bunch of formations.

I'm 99% sure that hammerfall formation will wind up being their Decurion.

Looks like I'll need a box of Stealth Suits. Still suits though, which is cool.

I'm curious how the Guard come out.

I used them in that optimized stealth cadre and didn't lose a single one. They performed adequately.

Some really good stuff there. Nothing game breaking either. Haven't looked at the tau stuff yet.

So the Emporers Fist..... It that a commander in a tank, then 3 squadrons (ie 4 tanks minimum?

Ugh just did a re-read. It's 5.

So at minimum you need:
*a company command squad

And either
*5 Russeses
Or
*170 shock troops and 3 sentinels

So it's CAD for me for now:)

It looks like the min is a company command squad and a whatever. Since you can do 0-3 core and 0-3 aux after the company command squad.

Well to take any aux you have to take a corresponding number of core. Which is still blah. The sheer number of models required is fairly daunting.

As best I can figure you're looking at 1000 pts before you can touch Aux. And you'll either have 5 tanks or an ocean of footy guard.

Not saying you can't make that work, but I think utilizing CAD+formations will be the way to go.

I agree. Unless you happen to own all those things already... maybe...

I would be interested if you could run a full tank group though. That could be interesting.

Tanks would be easy. The Russ formation is 5 at minimum, 12 at max I believe.

I was thinking 5-6 russes, some dudes in transports (2-3 squads), couple of hellhounds, one or two mobile artillery. Would be a neat themed list. Get wrecked by a bunch of stuff out there but would be fun!

BG detachment. Russ core, the vet/hellhound formation, and the arty formation.I'd have to play on BS for pointage.
