blood oath
So given this is a GW pub and explicitly mentions FW units (non LOW) as being legal (indeed required for some formations), can we put the "is FW legal" to rest?
Next: are Apoc formations simply formations?

Re: blood oath
Fw has been legal for a while now, it's just tournament organizers who disallow it really...
Some of the formations are insane.
Khorne berserkers in a kharybidis drop pod, can DS into squads, causing damage, then jump out, assault same turn...

In some cases the formation or unit will have an "apocalypse" stamp, although these days it seems GW has moved away from an official Apocalypse ruleset and just encourages us to play bigass games. It's going to be trickier for tourney organizers to run things now, for sure, but nothing we can't handle!

Re: blood oath
My take on FW is any environment is simple, bring the most up to date version of the rules, and it's cool. Same as you'd do for codex. I just greatly tire of ppl saying it isn't legal because it isn't listed in a big rule book or whatever. Also when they whine about how broken it is
Formations pretty much take care of themselves on price. With how widespread Formations and LoW have become, the balance is Pretty good, except for outliers like the Wraithknight.

Bingo. Not only does LoW have horrible balance, the slot itself is broken. How is Ghaz in anyway comparible to a Stompa, and why would you limit it to 0-1 per CAD, then make it a formation consisting of itself (Wraithknight).

Re: blood oath
That Fist of Khorne formation is pretty awesome.. and makes it really tempting to pony up the $300 for a claw. The Bloodied Horde one is also pretty sweet.. returning letters and crushers to the game on a 4+. However I'm short a few boxes of bloodletters and skull cannons.
I see theres a big debate roaring over the exclusiveness of the Blood Oath book.
I'm still enjoying the variety from the book itself right now.. 4 new detachments so quickly feels a bit overwhemling.
GW was starting to look solid with its release schedule, balance.. but the last few releases have thrown it all haywire again.

I think what'll get settled on is an outright ban of Super-Heavies and Gargantuan Monsterous Creatures, and a potential re-implementation of D-Weapons. If GW could actually.... write fucking balanced rules.
Like, it doesn't need to be perfect and shouldn't be (like a CCG game, for cards to be "good" some cards have to be "bad"), but FFS, the friggen Wraithknight shows a tonne of disrespect to people who play the game.
