Imperial Fists

So I got my bitz order today and was saddened to find out that the metal Tactical Squad shoulder does not match up with the Crimson/Imperial Fist shoulder. I think I might be able to salvage the situation by simply building up the outer edge of the Tactical Squad shoulder with a line of green stuff. That will be a project for another night though. Right now I will say that I really do like the Crimson/Imperial Fist upgrade sprue for marines. The tank upgrade pack wasn't nearly as impressive (I bought one to bring my cart over 75 and get free shipping, didn't know the Den would do bitz orders). I put one marine together just to see how everything would match up (blah it has been a long time since I put marines together). For tonight I`ll let everyone else see what they think of the different shoulder guards (the standard guards are also smaller than the upgrade sprue ones, but it significantly less noticable).





And for a little random fun, I had two spare Assault Cannons so I hacked them up a little bit and glued them to some old storm bolter terminators. Boom, more terminators with assault cannons, who doesn`t love that (other than filthy xenos and heritics).

So I spent the last day or two greenstuffing an additional "edge" on the tactical squad shoulder pads (at this point it probably would have been easier to greenstuff an arrow on regular shoulders, oh well). I think it looks pretty good so far. Once they finish curing tomorrow I am going to do some cleanup work to even everything out and make sure it sits a bit more flush.

Yea it is amazing how much of a difference that little bit of an extra edge makes.

Thanks Mark going to try and get some more in before xmas, but don't know if I'll have time. I just hope the next step of trimming them goes smoothly.
