Custom Transfer Sheets Empty Custom Transfer Sheets

I was wondering if anyone here has mucked around with custom transfer sheets at all around here. Mostly wondering since I was wanting to use transfers to put hazard symbols on shoulders in place of trying to paint straight hazard stripes onto a curved surface.

I have, but if that's what your planning to use them for, your better off painting them. You'll piss yourself off more trying to fight with a large flat transfer to sit flush on a curved shoulder pad. and all the tricks to make flat transfers sit on pads won't work because you're doing stripes which will show right away that you jiggered with the transfer to make it sit

I was more looking to put things like this on, in place of stripes:

Gear mangled hand for general stuff, fire hazard for flamer dudes, laser warnings for las cannon dudes, et cetera.

I think Mike's point still stands. As soon as you have a straight line on a curved surface it is going to distort fairly quickly.

The fire symbol might not be bad.

Ignoring the shoulder pad application, I was also looking to use some of the decals printed this way on vehicles as well, getting things like the "stay 15 feet back" sign that we all know from the graders in winter for the arse end of tanks, or one of those chemical diamonds for something like a Banewolf (ACID - blue 4, red 0, yellow 2), and so on. A general "safety first" theme, as it were.

Oh I agree those kind of decals would be hilarious and cool as a theme for your army. Just putting any kind of a transfer on a rounded surface is no easy task.

Do we have any local suppliers of the stuff in toon town? I've heard that you need to seal the sheets right after printing.

they have the testors program and sheets at michaels.

Funny you should bring it up because i bought them in edmonton at the hobby store in the mall last week.  when i got them home i realized it was for an inkjet printer and i only have access to Laser printers which use a completly different type of paper Sad  So i have some inkjet transfer paper available for trade if you want. going to have to order the laser paper online because nobody carries it in toontown or otherwise it seems.

as far as distortion, the article above mentions Micro-sol. which apparantly melts the decal into your model once its applied, so it looks like it got painted over whatever bumps or pits should be under the decal.

As my printer takes ink, I'm reasonably sure that mine is not a laser printer. I'd be down to get those sheets off of you. Now I just need to track down the all the rest.
