Battletech

Hey, does anyone play/ own Battletech on this forum? Me and a couple friends are playing and I was wondering if anyone else go the new intro box or was playing before.

I might have a regiment or two. I tend to prefer 3025 or early 3050 tech.

Dan (dabear) and drew (daemonkin) also play. I'm sure there are others.

Ok, cool to know other people play Battletech as well. As for the two of us, we only really have the new Intro Set, so we are at 3025 tech as well.

3025 is great to learn at. I have a couple of scenario books (sword and dragon, first strike) that would be great to learn on.

First Strike in particular is well suited to the intro box.

In 3025, I like the Hunchback, Awesome, Panther, and Atlas. I also like the Linebacker from the Clan Invasion.

Warhawk, tmber wolf, and blackhawks. All the way

3025: Wolfhound, Enforcer, Orion, Awesome
3050ish-IS: Phoenix Hawk, Marauder, Black Knight
Clan: Shadow Cat, Nova Cat, Timber Wolf, War Hawk

I still want to try running Operation: Flashpoint sometime. Great story there.

What is everybodies favourite factions? Mine are House Davion for the IS, and Clan Wolf In Exile and Cloud Cobra for the Clans.

For IS I go with awesome warhammer jenner, clan mechs I favor the thor warhawk canis and highlander IIC, as for factions I usually go with wolf or ghost bear

So do people here play Battletech or Alpha Strike?

I'm FedCom for IS, clanner i like the Jade Falcons but I'm willing to vary it a bit.

Alpha Strike is a wargame (3D terrain, movement in inches not hexes, etc.) made by Catalyst (the current people who make Battletech) and is much simpler than standard Battletech. We play standard Battletech, but I know Alpha Strike is quite popular and easier to get into.
