Finally.. some more complete rules.

Not alot in it but i have to say i really like the options given. Alot better than the black legion options. Theres a few cool relics. The 2+ armour one.. awesome. Im surprised no daemon weapon but maybe one will pop up. I still long for a basic +1 str one.

looks like a basic upgrade kit for the current armies. Nurgle lord on bike gets better with 2+ save and IWND. Khorne lord gets worse because no daemon weapons and no ETERNAL WARRIOR to keep him alive long enough to play slap fight with his no daemon weapon.

Kinda wierd actually that the sorcerer /w div gets better in a khorne flavoured supplement.

There is lots to be happy about here, just... not the codex i'm looking for.

Yeah, not a lot on the Khorne front... although like Mark was saying.. prescience helps everyone including berserkers. A big unit with Kharne getting hatred and a unit getting prescienced from a sorcerer are scary threats.

I like the idea of having a Jugg lord with a 2+ save and IWND.. but without access to the axe I don't know what I'd give him for a weapon. I guess the Syphon maybe.. ? Im wondering if the syphon stacks with a regular power weapon.. a pair of claws might be something to look at with the syphon.

I was looking at a Nurgle lord with a palanquin and the 2+ IWND option. That's a 5 wound dude with 2+ armour and IWND. He'd be hard to remove with some plague marines to hang out with. And yeah, a bike lord with the armour is nice.

I'm also really liking the relic giving fleet, fearless, daemon and rolling on the possessed table.

Im hoping the possessed table here is the printed one. At first it was poisoned rending weapons, then there no rending and now its back.. I really like that table.

Nothing crazy but adding a few options is cool. I cant believe that possessed got a scoring option before bikes, raptors or terminators ever did though.

fantastic. Word bearers counts as much?
Possessed urrywhere, better psykers? Better dark apostles? Possessed lord? Drooool.
This is all sweet sweet awesomeness for conversions. I assume they can ally with daemons as well...

Thats what the consensus is, based on black legion, farsight, etc.

Becoming a daemon has some interesting.mechanics as well. Some people are stretching it into.being able to join daemkn khorne units, but i dont see it happening.. still doesnt have the " daemon of khorne " rule.

But.. the grimoire did get some new targets whether its possessed or a possessed lord of some sort.

It really does feel like a word bearers supplement.. minus any neat daemonic ally tricks.

Jesus, didn't even think of the grimoire. Does that work on any daemon unit?

Yep.

So they could have a 3++ or 2++ save.

Yep, Rending's a thing.

Crazy Sword's 30pts (pricey?)

Divination Relic is 25pts. -- built in spell familiar

2+ IWND Armour is 30pts (a = STEAL =) it's like putting terminator armour on a bike lord... but allowed. You'd have to pay 15 pts for the 5++ if you wanted it though.

So ya, the new relics are nicely costed. The thing that turns your dude into a posessed guy is only 30 pts too (fleet, fearless, daemon, fear, and roll on the posessed chart)

If you're wondering why that's good... Fearless Sorcerer? Yes please. Fearless lvl 3 sorcerer w\ IWND and a 2+/5++ save that rolls on Div and re-rolls failed tests is 195 pts.
==

Lvl 3 div sorcerer that re-rolls failed tests is 135 points (CHEAP!)

This might be the best supplement thats come out for any army. It really changes the whole dynamic of chaos.

2+ armour, divination, and a new scoring option all in one book. Bonkers.

Im so happy im gonna pony up the money and buy it.

Thanks for putting the points up.. they all make me happy.

Army wide fear is way better than having to burn a warlord trait to get it on one squad, that's for sure.

Hey Robyn,

When I zipped by ~12:30ish, Darren only had one copy of the book left. I got him to put it aside for you.

Thanks ya. I should have spun by today. I cant decide if i want some new models or pony up for the book.

Ive got a box of plaguebearers ive been holding onto. I might take maybe 5 of them and merge them with some marines to make some nurgle possessed. I just dont know if id use two units of possessed or not.

I dunno...

Maybe? With Mark of Nurgle they're fairly survivable. Based on my one game with them, I don't know how well that'd actually work. I didn't get beast form until turn 4 (although, they were still alive)

target priority will keep them alive.

can they shoot me? no
will they charge me out of their rhino? no

They compare favorably to terminators when placed in a land raider or storm eagle. otherwise...?   random tables are fail... fail... Fail

Tactically.. sure. But for enjoyment and entertainment, i have no problem with them at all.

If its unpreticable for me.. it will be for.my opponent as well. And.. im sure my opponent is usually doing more than i am.

A 1/3 chance of a turn 2 Beast Charge. The models are fun and affordable. (I picked up a box on Saturday)
