I *love* it.
If you drop all the lootas to 10 (so they can go-to-ground when shot at), can you take another unit of 3 buggies with twin-linked rokkets?
Mr. Miller and I looked at potential 9-buggy lists near the end of fifth. I thought it was a terrible idea at first, but then I came around. Sooo much shooty with sooo much armour! If you're taking them out, the trucks'll getcha!

i do agree with you about the buggies.
but with tau dar and bale drakes whats the point of trying to grab cover?

I would like it better with more boyz. Each trukk squad is worth like 24 boyz. Just walk them forward or castle up and provide cover for the lootas. Trukks are too much of a liability unless they think its empty . I would probably do 3x10 lootas behind an ADL.

i originaly thought of this , but there seems to be so much " ignores cover ".
i wanted to actualy keep the truck units in reserve , and zoom up and grab objectives once the lootas thin out the treats a little bit.
was planning to keep them cheaper , with out pks but thought i might need some more anti AR 14

trucks are ramshackle , so only a str 3 hit and 1/3 rd of the time nothing

Stupid Ork trucks. Somehow being more poorly put together equals safer and can all of a sudden shoot off in a random direction. I think the people who tested the first cheap cars would disagree!

What I would have done is only moved up a bit turn one, and disembarked all your boys (since it was going to take me at least 2 turns to get to the relic). Leave two lanes so you can tank shock me further away from the objective (while I'm fearless I still can get pushed around due to tank shock). Also those str10 hits from the deff rollas are very bad for me. I cannot put them on regular paladins since every failed save squshes a dude and even draigo doesn't get fnp from str10. If you could grab the objective turn 2 with the disembarked boyz and then turn three tank shock me again with any remaining vehicles (I would probably use a truck and one battlewagon turn one, and the other wagon and battlewagon turn 2) you should be able to get enough room between one of your larger boyz squads and my paladins that I cannot catch them. With a bit of luck on terrain/shielding units I might not be able to shoot them to death either.
But that isn't da ork way so

You're going to hate it when your wagons get shaken/stunned and your Loota's lose 50% of their effectivenss, not to mention how do you plan on dealing with AV 14?

wasn't a ton to be done. if you stay back and shoot they shrug it off, if you charge in you die. only way to win would have been to play the mission, ram everything into the paladins and make off with the relic with another.

how do orks deal with anything AV 14?, and the av 14 all around does concern me , i got 6 twl buggies and 3 str 9 pks.
could always got with deff rollas but that is always hard to pull off , looks good on papper not so much on the table

Icouldnt ram with the trukks (no rams), and while the deffrolla is Str 10, it's AP nil. In all likely hood, maybe 2-3 paladins down, then both get sploded. Also no good way to deal with the Dknight. My dice karma would've needed to go 180 for a decent shot at that game.

Less ram, more tank shock. I have watched a couple of interesting vids online about how it can be used as a huge way to move models. Especially late game off objectives (even fearless models have to at least move out of the way)3.
I will admit the only thing to do with the Dknight is lock him in with a blob. He can't be left to torch dudes or kill your smaller units.
I will admit its a stupid hard match up for orks and the mission was always going to be super hard.

I thought you had to be a tank to tank shock? Or am I thinking of 5th?
In the case of the Dreadknight, I totally flubbed it. The Meganobs are immediately dropped to a 5+ save, with no FNP, and Insta gibbed. As we saw, you dropped almost all of them in a single round. For any of the OTHER squads, I want my Nob swinging, but you're a character, so its either a challenge (where you'll kill me before I swing) or I decline (removing him from combat). The only way would have been to put Krippletrakks or Grotznik with a boy squad (You challenge, I decline, I have a PK that is in the combat, and 19 ablative wounds.)
Fun match, I was waiting for my Ork to do something stupid like have a Trukk shoot off 18" or my Looted wagon explode due to Orky shenanigans:)
