hey, decided to start a thread where we could post ideas of what we'd take in a Kill Team list.

for those who still havent read up on this, here's what the restrictions are:

  • 0-1 Elites, 0-2 Troops, 0-1 Fast Attack
  • Point limit of 200pts
  • Minimum 4 non-vehicle models in the list
  • nothing with an armour save of 2+
  • nothing with 4+ wounds
  • nothing with 4+ HP
  • no vehicles with a total combined armour value of 34+ (add the FA, SA, RA values together to get this)



rules of note:

  • Every Man For Himself: when you deploy and play your models, every individual model is treated as a separate unit. this includes upgrade models like drones and fenrisian wolves. Even if the model(s) you chose for your kill team have Independent Character, they still cant join another model.
  • Transport Vehicles:  the unit that purchased them are the only ones that can start embarked on them, but after that, you can mix and match ANY model in your list to hop inside up to the vehicle's maximum transport capacity.
  • You're On Your Own: no matter what special rules your models have, you can never spawn more models on the board than what you start with.  the only type of unit that can be placed in reserves, is those with the Outflank rule.  If they have Deep Strike, they must be deployed on the board like normal models that dont have the rule.
  • Scoring Units: unless they have a specific rule saying they're never scoring in their profile (Blood Angels Death Company), all models including vehicles are scoring.
  • Psychic Solitude: Brotherhood of Psykers/Sorcerers has no effect and is ignored.
  • Break Tests: once more than half of your list is dead, you start each of your turns by making a Leadership test for every model, starting with your Leader. those that fail are removed as a casualty. Those within 6" of the Leader autopass if he passed his test. Fearless units autopass Break Tests. ATSKNF units can re-roll failed Break Tests. 



Secondary Objectives in effect in Kill-Team:

  • Slay the Leader: just like slay the warlord
  • Linebreaker: like normal
  • First Blood: this is based on first model killed
  • Break the Enemy: kill more than 50% of your enemy and gain +1 VP

here's a couple lists i was thinking of:

Thousands Sons list:
6 Thousand Sons, + 1 Aspiring Sorcerer = 196pts

World Eaters List:
6 Berzerkers with 4 ChainAxes, 2 Plasma Pistols, + 1 Champion with Lightning Claw = 200pts

Emperor's Children List:
6 noise marines with 1 Blastmaster, 1 Sonic Blaster, 5 Melee Weapons, + 1 Champion with Power Sword and Doom Siren = 197pts

Death Guard list:
6 Plague Marines with a Plasma Gun, + Champion with Power Sword = 198pts

Chaos Bikers List:
5 Bikers with 2 Plasma Guns and Icon of Vengeance, + Champion with a Power Sword = 200pts

Raptors List:
6 Raptors with a Flamer, Melta Gun, Icon of Vengeance, Mark of Slaanesh, + Champion with power sword = 198pts

Warp Talon List:
4 Warp Talons with Mark of Slaanesh, Veterans of the Long War, + Champion with Gift of mutation = 200pts

Tau List

3 Crisis ( one with dual missile, one with dual plasma & Stim Injector, one with dual fusion & shield generator) = 196
First one gets Haywire, Second gets Fleshbane, Last one gets PE

IG list

Veteran Squad - 2x plasma 1x melta (Demolitions) - Chimera Transport = 195

1 plasma has PE, another has Ignore Cover, random dude has fleshbane.

that tau list would be invalid tom; you need at least 4 dudes; leader plus 3 specialists.

Yes minimum sqd size. So you have to take 5 tact marines etc.

My Ultras kill team:
Telion
7 dudes in cloaks and sniper rifles
1 dude with ml and cloak
1 bolter and cloak

Anyone manage to max out the force org?

orks and nids should be able to;

2 squads of 10 gretchin, 5 stormboyz, 5 commandos. leaves 10pts to spare.

2 units of 10 termagants, 3 sky-slashers, 1 pyrovore leaves 10pts.
