7th Edition This Summer? Empty 7th Edition This Summer?

According to Natfka via 40k Radio.

Looks more like 6.5 to me, reprint of the rulebook with the new stronghold stuff and escalation stuff built in. While GW could use it to fix a few things, I wouldn't hold my breath.

Take with a Santa sized sack of salt.

Make Fliers easier to kill (grounding tests similar to FMC's?)
Assault off of Outflank
Assault out of a stationary Rhino

Make D weapons S10 AP1 Ignores Cover, or make the LoW Force Org slot take up a *max* of 25% of an army. (either or)

They did something similar to 3rd IIRC. Reprinted with a lot of the FAQs and white dwarf updates. Was kinda meh, since 4th came out maybe a year or two later.

Are fliers still a big deal for everyone who has a codex so far? I know that some of the older ones (Wolves in particular) are struggling, but once they get an update I'd be surprised if they still were having issues (or could just take allies  Razz ).

I agree that if you disembark before a vehicle moves you should still be allowed to assault. That would instantly make a large number of assault armies viable again, even with First Blood.

In favor of the 25% LoW option. At that point all the super heavies kind of balance out.

Know what I would like to see in there? A line that says "If a unit in a formation would be considered scoring in the primary detachment, it is also scoring in the formation". Thus Broadsides could score in Big Guns for core Tau lists, Chosen could score for Black Legion/Abadon lists, etc. Anyone could still take them, but their "home army" would have distinct benefits.

f they do like they did with the mini rule book (print and sell for +35$, no faq corrections.) I will be disappoint.

Agree with all of the above except formations.

"Formations must be taken from your primary detachment, and fill each units FOC slot"

Thus, the tau one can be taken, but that's it for heavy support.

I would also not mind allies having to fit with the std FOC (so you are limited in total 2hq, 6 troops, etc per 2000 pts)

Vehicles get a 4+ or 3+ save? Or like Mike said, everything is a monstrous creature.

TL;DR It's not "6.5" but a "full edition" | Pistols in Close Combat | More "competitive" | Less "alpha strike"
