I'm waiting to see the rules for Imperial Fists. If the model for Dorn is cool and I like their rules I am so going to do a bunch of them. Especially Sigsmund.

I'm looking at night lords, mostly because they double as 30k and 40k chaos.

I painted my chaos as death guard but waiting (and its going to be a long wait) for alpha legion to build a 30k legion army. Though currently im 5 models deep into a Mechanicum army. LOVE the figs. FW order number 2 is going to be painful but so delicious.

Tom (k) and i played out a night lords vs mechanicum game that was quite a bit of fun... night lords have redic rules. Assault marines wounding T7 MC's on 5+... ugh

Salamanders got decent rules and units. FiredrAkes sound awesome. Wish they'd go faster with the primarchs and characters

This is true, but they also don't yet have models. Also, you can't rush something the whole community has been waiting on for decades.

Fluff wise, the only Necrons that would be up and about at that point in time would have been the Praetorians and any Canoptek constructs minding tomb worlds.

I don't actually want them to rush anything I'm just terribly impatient :p I hope 30k gains in popularity but FW sure doesn't make it easy with multiple 100$ rulebooks!

If you mean rulebook, get the mini hardback rules or a copy of the dark vengeance rulebook.

If you mean your codex, the current neuron codex is from 5th and has none.

You had mentioned getting IA 12 ordered at some point, though. That book does have a Necron specific warlord table that's pretty boss.
