Punching
I LoL'd at this at work so i figured its worth re posting. originally from Kirby's 3++
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
WHEN PEOPLE PLAY THE GAME WRONG IT MAKES ME VERY ANGRY IT MAKES ME WANT TO COME INTO THEIR BASEMENTS (AND INTO THEIR MINDS) AND MAKE THEM PUNCHED UNTIL THERE IS NOTHING ELSE BUT PUNCHES LEFT FOR THEM THAT IS WHAT THEY DESERVE FOR PLAYING THEIR TOY SOLDIER GAMES THE WAY THAT ISN'T THE WAY I PLAY MY TOY SOLDIER GAMES
IF YOU DON'T DO ALL OF THESE THINGS EXACTLY LIKE THIS, YOU DESERVE TO BE PUNCHED INFINITY TIMES
1. A flyer must choose to Evade after to-hit rolls are made but before penetration rolls.
2. If multiple units are affected by a psychic power, each of them makes a separate Deny the Witch roll- except in the case of Jaws of the World Wolf, where the first Deny roll dictates the success or failure for all units concerned.
3. Units must make a Morale test for any phase during which they lose more than 25% of their members, including your own movement/shooting phases (careful with that Plasmagun, Eugene.)
4. Stunned flyers must move 18″ straight forward (and may easily crash as a result); Immobilized flyers must move at the full speed category they were in when Immobilized, but may continue to turn as usual. Immobilized flyers cannot go into Hover mode, Evade, or move Flat Out, however.
5. Units must make a Pinning check if they suffer a wound from such a weapon, rather than just a casualty. Sometimes even Riptides is cowards!
6. If you regroup (and aren't Space Marines), you cannot make any further movements during that turn- including Running, launching an assault, or using Jet Pack moves.
7. Weapons with Skyfire but not Interceptor can shoot at Skimmers using full Ballistic Skill.
8. Shooting at a unit behind an Area Terrain forest- but not actually in it- will give the target a cover save; this is not true for other types of such terrain, unless of course they obscure the target normally.
9. Unless the model allows a greater angle of pivot, all vehicle weapons have a 45° traverse- 22.5° in each direction (up, down, left, right, etc.) This is especially important for flyers- if they're right on top of their target, they may not be able to aim their guns down at it!
10. Gone to Ground/Pinned units can hold objectives, but cannot score Linebreaker.
IF YOU DO ANY OF THESE THINGS EVER, YOU ARE LITERALLY THE WORST PERSON WHO EVER EXISTED
I would like to also elaborate on point number 4. An immobilized flyer has to continue flying in the speed catagory that it was going before, Combat speed or Cruising speed. Combat speed for a flyer is 18" exactly, anything from 18.1" is cruising speed, and hence if you moved 18.1 inches, you continue to fly in Cruising speed for the remainder of the game. cruising speed is 18.1 inches to 36 inches. Many people in our gaming group have been measuring how far a flyer moved in the previous movement phase and saying that you are locked at that exact distance for the rest of the game, and this is not correct.... unless you moved exactly 18 inches and locked yoruself at Combat speed. .... which would make you a bad player
Re: Punching
Aside from being funny there are some good rules definitions in here. I'll be watching for who needs punches from now on.
Re: Punching
I wasn't aware of #10. Gone-to-ground are scoring units that don't count for line breaker? Quoi?
Re: Punching
I saw this as well and appreciated the read.
It is amazing how many little details get missed.
Re: Punching
#2 is true for all Beam powers, not just JotWW. First thing hit by the beam gets the Deny roll, everything else gets hit.
For the Sunburst, each unit hit by sunburst, gets to deny.
How are any of those"funny"?
They appear to be normal rules, albeit ones people like to forget... or never bothered to learn...
Or.. They read the first 2 lines of the rule and think they know what the other 4 paragraphs say/read...
It's like Seinfieldian observational comedy based entirely in the 40K universe.Matthew G wrote:How are any of those"funny"?
Hey, these deathmarks are going to shootup your Wraithknight (at full BS) after disembarking from that Night Scythe that moved 36".
Classic Dallas.
Or, "How many boyz in that Battlewagon?"
