Double Force organization

ok so I some times have trubble with this so this is why Im asking
lets say I have 1 HQ 2 out 5 TROOPS and 3 havy slots filled I want to take more heavy units so I take a 2nd HQ 2 more TROOPS then a heavy. is this  proper double FOC or must I max out all 5 troop slots frist

You can use a double force org when playing 2000 points and.up.

1) There are 6 troop slots, not 5.
2) The minimum force representation for DFOC is indeed 2 HQs and 4 Troops, meaning you would have to add 1 HQ and 2 Troops to what you have listed, as you have said.
3) DFOC also has a second requirement of the list being at or above 2000 points. Given how inexpensive the Imperial Guard can be points wise, at least when it really wants to be, it is possible to make a list with 2 HQs, 4 Troops, and 6 Heavy Support but still not break 2000 points, and thus not qualify for the slots that would let you take Heavy Support slots 4, 5, and 6.


Here's an example of a super bare-bones list that, while filling up the minimum number of slots needed to unlock DFOC, doesn't cost enough points to actually use it.

This list works, as it satisfies all the conditions needed for DFOC. At least 2 HQs? Check. At least 4 Troops? Check. At least 2000 points? Check, as this list rings in at 2605 points.
