Firing Multiple Weapons

So this an issue I have been expecting a GW FAQ on for a while now. Since we haven't I thought I'd ask everyone else what they thought.

What do you think of the possibility to use Multi-trackers/Monstrous Creatures ability to fire more than one weapon during a) overwatch b) interceptor?

The argument for is that both say something along the lines of "just like a normal shooting attack".

The argument against is that either ability specifies "the shooting phase".

Thoughts? Opinions? Random pictures of ducks?

my gut tells me that you can fire whatever you could in the shooting phase. just at reduced BS.

i dont have anything to back that up atm, but RAI seems to be that way.
surely rifleman dreds are supposed to be able to fire both arms. and i dont see whya MC couldnt rifle off two of whatever goop they are flinging.

There was one thing I read in the Tau book that made me think, "Not during overwatch".... Ripplefire on the Nova Reactor

I'll check out the wording and post it up when I'm at home tonight. Ripple fire with SMS would be kinda mean on overwatch. I know a lot of Tau players use it to fire it twice on interceptor. Could you imagine if you could Ripple fire and have multiple support fires from it like Longstrike, that would make people cry.

Yes unless you happen to be Longstrike. He can with all weapons and can support each unit in range.
