 Here is what I see Mark for comp. -1 HQ over 300 points, -1 Elites two choices, -1 for dedicated transports over 150?, -1 HS for a third choice, -1 one for a duplicate HS, -1 for a triplicate HS = -6 for a score of 14/20. I would also be careful if they count dedicated transports as "troops" for points otherwise you'd lose another point for less than 300 points of troops. "All points combinations exclude any dedicated transports and their wargear/equipment (all of which go into the dedicated transport section).

Air superiority and scoring. not sure about kharne, maybe a nurgle lord with a black mace, just want a decent counter-charge threat while i shoot stuff.

think its just -2 for 18/20. 300 points of flyers. (exactly, so i dont take -1 for Over 300 points of FA) and -1 for duplicate heavy choices. i'm still on the fence on weather i should nurgle mark the oblits to give them survivability, if i do, they go over 300 points of heavies and affect the comp score.

Hey Mike, I was trolling the internet looking for rules on the sabre platforms and found this. Is this the most recent set of rules for them?

Edit: follow up question. If those are the newest rules, why are they both Unit Type: Artillery, but have a Vehicle statline.

not even close to most recent rules for sabre turrets... its now artillary with tgh 7 and two wounds..

they are really quite good.  t7, 2 wounds, 3+ Armour,  scoring. free searchlights. twin linked lascannons with skyfire and interceptor.

the picture doesn't reflect the rules, as it states that any platform may take a free searchlight, but then they make an entirely separate searchlight model.

I'm going to use these. they are only WIP right now, but a good start on 5 of them.

Play tested the above list against Tom earlier today. Ironically, tightening up the list to play better resulted in a 20/20 comp score.

Incidentally, the Scarabs did awesome this match, destroying a Riptide in one round of melee. Rend + Shred = Stranger Danger, it seems. Flayed Ones, by my opinion, did their job excellently, soaking up immense amounts of incoming fire turn one. Sure, they got wiped off of the field turn one, but all that shooting was shooting that failed to go at the Scarabs and DLord. Thus, by bulking up both squads a touch, and going with a 3rd troop that starts on the board, I should be able to weather turn one much better. The Warriors and Ghost Ark should give me some much needed shooting and ranged anti-armor.

That game was all kinds of fun Tom. I really enjoyed playing against the Dark Harvest. They are totally different than regular Necrons. I think you'd have a lot better luck with this list since it'd be much harder for me to kill squads and deny any sort of RP. Also you did give me a couple of nice large blast spots turn one and two (I think I averaged between 5-8 models per blast) which didn't help. I have to get in gear and make a lot more terrain for my table that isn't books/boxes/carboard so we can post up some battle report videos/pictures. Could even become a monthly/bi-montly thing! We could be the next internet sensation! Razz

The Dark Harvest is such a departure from the typical slog-and-shoot game play of the Necrons, while maintaining the core idea of the implacable death march. I'm going to have to try bringing the new Ark against you sometime, an AV 14 tank with a tripple tap plasma cannon and a 5++ is nothing to sneeze at.

I am debating switching one hammerhead in my list for an Aegis line or Bastion. Would net me three points on the composition score and I'd have a little left for some random upgrades. I wonder if one str 10 ap 1 gun is enough for serious anti-tank though (also fun shooting rhinos with them Razz )

Replaced one hammerhead with the aegis line and quadgun. decided that anti-tank was going to be low so picked up longstrike and PENchip on my commander at the cost of two markerlight drones. You guys came up with some decent lists with fair comp. Makes me realize how badly Chaos Space Marines need a decent supplement. I went 20/20 comp but my list is redonculously not competitive in comparison haha. 2 helldrakes was my only other move but with snazzy fw and tau... didn't think the investment and -3 comp was worth it. Oh well least the deathshroud terminators look fantastic! Looking forward to seein ya gents on the battlefield.

yeah double dragon is like -4 points not counting the rest of your list. its not that bad actually for what it gives you.

lets hope the various supplements that come out balance out the CSM codex a bit. its also a little unfortunate that the one unit in the dex that is obviously "very very good" the drake. also marginalizes every other unit in the dex. (along with most other MEQ equivalent armies)
