Daemon profiles - rumours

Wow... Check out.the bloodthirster. Seems pretty strong even for 280 points. But with the way things have been ramping up and how the new daemon prince came with increased stats.. Not unbelievable.

I have a list with two 275 bloodthirsters i thought looked.good.. And those thirsters were babies compared to what this guy can do.. Damn.

Bloodletters down a bit.. which is good. Right now its really tough to justify taking them.. And then you need a big unit.

Daemonettes down a bit to. I like thwm but talk about a glass hammer.

The thirster seems to crazy to be true. +2 str, +1 wound, 2+ armour, then feel no pain, heals wounds for.kills and gets.extra attacks at the end of round. Yikes.

The current thirster is 250 points. Ill sometimes give mine +1 str for 20 points and a 2+ save against psychic powers.for 5. So 275 points.. Compared to the 280 thw above is listed at.. Ack! I could see the powers underneath costing extra points. 350 for what they had listed wouldnt be unreasonable.

Im happy i have that forgeworld thirster kicking around.. I bet those.new.plastic.greater daemons will be $99 like the slaughterbeaat.. I bet they sell a shit ton of them to.

plague sword of death - wounds everything on 2+ with an ap of 3 - turns characters into spawn

is actually going to be ap2 ... and turning enemy characters into spawn on death? gimmeh some of that craziness. .. and My Master gifts all? how does your Deathwing command squad like becoming Str/Tgh 3. no saves, no deny the witch... and then having to fight a str5 tgh5 4+ FNP unit of plaguebearers?

My typhus/zombie GUO/Plaguebearer armylist is writing itself in mah head right now. The Walking Dead are comin fer ya.

something is off on the profiles too. Daemon as a special rules grants a 5+ invule save. why even list a 6+ armour save on the profile if nobody is ever going to roll on it?

Given some of the errors that came out in the last 2 codexes, I'm inclined to think those may be correct.

The plague sword of death might be a nurgle.piece of.wargear? Someone mentioned that in the comment thread and it seemed to make sense.

The names are corny as hell .. But i have no problem with it.

They were going to make the greater.daemons the toughest mc's in the game.. Looking that way right now. Yikes!

The mechanic of always being assured at least a single save either armour or FNP, but not both. Is kind of neat. Gives them a fighting chance against the large Str/Low ap weapons (Daemon save + FNP) but still leaves the models vulnerable to being torrent-ed down by small arms fire.(Armour save only) Its imaginative enough that it could be true.
