ravenwing company banner

got the base coats done on the banner for my command squad. i chose purple flames instead of the orange/yellow so they stood out better against the red and orange sunset background.

the white was done with army painter white, diluted with a 1:1 ratio of Reaper flow improver. this let me have a more fluid white to paint on smooth, without thinning and milking up the paint's pigment. the angel's wings was a 2:1 of paint to flow improver, and you can see that's still too chalky.

i'd recommend using the flow improver if you want paints to go on smoother, but it only helps if your paint of choice is in either a dropper bottle, or you have a pipet to transfer paint from a pot to a mixing pallet, or else you'll have a harder time getting the 1:1 ratio for a nice smoothness.
