Re: new dining room table?
yeah. the inset is a perfect 4x6. its an acrylic layer that you can buy gridded or un-gridded.
i assume the dnd players like it so you can just put pictures under it and you have instant maps.

i've seen these before, they're really really nice. and best part about the deep set play area is if your playing a game and have to 'pause' for supper, etc, you can just place the slats overtop and the game is still in play. assuming you didnt use any buildings too tall to cover up.

I have admired the sultan more than once.. we just need someone in our d&d group to strike it rich.

Re: new dining room table?
My lady actually showed me that table a few months ago as a potential future dining/rpg room table.
Its a great mix of fun and function I find.

i do find that aside fromt he addons and extras hidey-holes. you dont gain a lot that you wouldnt get from just getting a 6x4 dining table and then cutting a big peice of acrylic to cover the top with.
The big thing for me would just be leaving models/maps/games "running" under neath when time ran out. some of the coffee tables are sweet too.

Trick is just buying her a bigger house and sectioning off a room for your geek stuff.
Thats what i've attempted to do we'll see how long my new games room/man cave lasts!
getting folks to drive to Martensville to game is probably the biggest downfall.

Re: new dining room table?
you live in hookerville mike? that's not a far drive at all; i used to work at the wrecker yard on the highway out to there. i liked the chinese cuisine at...po's kitchen? pings? something or other. best chow mein i've had in a long time; so far, only the shechuan kitchen on broadway comes remotely close in s'toon. the rest all taste like crap.
Re: new dining room table?
yeah we just bought a house out here. took posession new years eve.
and your right, the drive is not bad at all, its probably faster to visit me than beau if your coming from anywhere on the east side
i work in the downtown area and i get home faster now than when i lived in briarwood

Re: new dining room table?
I'm a couple blocks up Idywild, across the tracks from that new police station they are building. so its a bit of a walk until the snow goes away. but i make my own hours so its not a huge issue.
I've met Beau in midtown occasionally to pay for BWB orders and stuff. Anytime you guys want to meet up, that tims across the street from the Federated building is ok by me as well.

Re: new dining room table?
Mike, I live not too far from Martensville. I could probably take the trip sometime to your place for a game if you were up for it. It'd be easier on my wife if I could take my 5 year old. I dunno if Alexander would play well with her or not. It'd give my wife some quiet time at home.
My place is a possibility for anyone at some point, but we don't really have a proper sized table. And no terrain. I guess I could grab boxes, cut out paper, or whatever. I just have a 6-person marble table, I am unsure of the dimensions.

Re: new dining room table?
I'm working on the table soon, I'm trying to decide if i want it mobile or not. and what materials. etc.
Not sure about the kids playing together, but there is enough lego in the next room to choke a great Dane, and the new puppy can probably babysit.
I'll PM you as soon as i get something to play on. giving mom a break with the new baby there can only be a good thing.

Yeah, sounds good but the dog would be a problem for Lina. She's deathly afraid of dogs. Lego is cool, tho.

Sorry Mike.. Missed that note about coffee somehow.
I am free almost anyday.. And midtown or tims is fine with me. I walk over to the mall almosy every day anyway to get some air and awa from the desk.
Nailing down beau is always the wild card

Dog is about the size of a land raider currently Scott. if anything is going to reduce fear of canines its Chloe. can always lock her up in a shoebox if she gets rowdy.
Robyn/Beau. lets try for early feb. it too cold to be adventuring anyway, haha.
