Wow, this book will keep my brain busy for a bit. Lots of fun to be had. It's like the Chaos Book, except it works.

For Thiessen, we're looking at Bolter shenanigans. Might take the crappier fighter if the Devistation Banner works with Hurricane bolters, as I like the idea of shooting 24 of something from one thing... It's like a ghost ark, at that point (never mind the rift cannon).

Bikes are amazing.

Everything is "good" basically. There's care to be taken, it's not like the Grey Knight book where a monkey can write a competitive list by accident, but I think, power wise, it's up there with Necrons. I hear launching Rad Grenades is fun...

Note it has some shenangans with Rad and Stasis.... but it is NOT Psychotrope Grenades/Mindshackle scarabs. I guess I generally dislike "I get to attack you, but you do not have the option of attacking me back/STOP HITTING YOURSELF, BEAU!!!"

I was probably teased too much as a child....

I have to admit, though, MSS is my favorite way to kill a Daemon Prince. "I guess mine is the only worthy head on the field!" *splort*

That Salvo banner just keeps getting scarier and scarier.

Well, Ezekial or a Libby can roll twice on Telepathy. Not that I would, because Divination is full of win.

65 point Librarian joins a tactical unit, pretty swanky. 100 points for same guy, lvl 2. I'm not sure on this, 2 rolls on divination, there's a chance you could get stuck with Scryers Gaze. Otherwise, giving 4++, Forewarning, Misfortune, or that other power :-P is all good. I prefer the buffs as they can't be denied.

Telekinisis is interesting as it has a 12" range nova power, crush, telekine dome (KFF, basically), and some other nifty stuff, but it's just nifty, it's not Divination :-)

Is it a banner or something that allows you to roll an extra die for all Leadership Tests, dropping the highest? Take that, Mindshackle Scarabs.

Beau: I remember reading that somewhere in the book.... +1D6 for leadership tests, drop the highest (so 4D6 drop highest, bottom 3 for mindshackle). Is it the perfidious relic? ... gah I don't have the book memorized yet.

I grabbed a box of Veterans for Thiessen's command squad, Darren had a box at the old price ($29) so it was a steal. Put them in a Razorback (with the devistation banner), flanked with Azreal and a 10-man and a Libby and a 10-man... lots of win to be had there. Although, Rhino's might make those tacticals better too. I'd like to play-test a few games to see, 1500pts anyone? :-)

The Pervy Relic gives Adamantium Will and Fear. Dont have my BRB on me, but thats likely the one you are thinking of.

You end up looking up 3-5 different special rules just to find out what the damn thing does.

5 Typhoons in a squadron is 375 points. Have an 80pt Darkshroud nearby, their jink save is 4+.

5 Typhoons would get 10 Krak shots, or 10 Frag Shots. ... Staggering.

This is the case for the Darkshroud (pair it with Black Knights......)

LS Vengeance: how to use it.

Deploy it front and center. When your opponent is overcome with laughter, take a baseball bat to his most powerful unit. Continue until he stops laughing.

If the vengeance had been twin-linked. like the model appears to be... it might not have been that bad. but a 2HP vehicle shooting multiple gets hot shots in a turn with no save?

The "Courage of the Lion" warlord trait, all units within 12" of the Warlord roll an extra dice for all leadership tests and drop the highest. Suck on that, Necrons. Also, if you have Azreal on the board, all those mindshackle tests are on LD 10, regardless of who it hits.

4D6, drop the highest.... I'd have to math it out, but you should pass Mindshackle around 77% of the time.

dont think its as high as 77%, in fact i dont think it changes the odds much at all. the average of the 3d6 leftover is still going to be like 10.5. which is a fail.

It isnt bad luck, its HORRIBLE luck. I've had 2 max range derp strikes and several that scattered double digits.

Trying to figure out how to get some RW in there, but it seems like I have to cut too much...

Heres a question..... I take a RW squad. I take the speeder and attack bike.

Does the attack bike have Hit and Run/Scouts/Teleport homer etc? (I would assume yes)

Does the speeder have the above (Since its part of the Attack Sqd) or does it have EXACTLY whats listed under the support sqd? (I would assume the support squadron)

I don't know... I'd have to double check my codex. I'd lean towards "No"?

I wish to god GW would get on android available codecies. I haven't found a scan yet and its not so good for my image to be pulling out what appears to be a giant hardbound Graphic novel at my desk while giving my employees the evil eye to get back to work.

In most cases.. a physical item such a homer, signum, the old chaos icons were carried by one specific model.. which could be sniped.. i wouldnt imagine that there would be a homer attached to every bike. the USRs though should be applied to the whole squad.

Thats the thing. The LS is never actually "attached" to rest of the squad so it would make sense it would follow the rules for the support Sqd (they dont even give the LS a stat line in the entry, I guess it would sorta be like a Techmarine taking Sevitors). Im pretty sure we all agree how it SHOULD be interrpeted, it just seemed off to me in how it was written.

RW have had a TH on each bike since the 4th ed codex. Theyve been really clear on that.

Make an old school book cover and write "TPS reporting" on it....
