It's not like it's a Rhino. You can assault after it blows up :-)

6" Move + 6" Disembark to get within 6" melta range (on a combi-melta), your opponent would have to move *closer*.

Combi-Plasma's though, you can pick your target. Deploy 18" away, 6+6+Doubletap = 24" threat range.
