exorcists scheme test mini

i have some purifiers and decided to paint them as Exorcist Chapter and have them counts-as Grey Knight purifiers. reason? theyre alot like the GK in that they're demon hunters, and in their novitiate test, they have the aspirant become possessed by a demon, and are forced to exorcise the demon from themselves with their own will before they are accepted as a battle brother of the chapter. this test is monitored of course by the ordo malleus for obvious reasons.

here's the mini so far, with the red done, and im just starting on the black and metal:


here's some short chapter info:
home world: Banish
deployment: autonomous
gene-seed: classified
the only successful chapter out of the cursed 13th founding, and sponsored/allied heavily with the inquisition and ordo malleus. as a result of the possession/exorcism trial all neophytes go through, the chapter is comprised of 12 companies; 11th and 12th being additional scout squads.

since they train and specialize in alot of demon fighting, and their special character has a neat thunder hammer that when aimed at demons or psykers, auto wounds on all successful hits, and he can nullify psyker powers on a 4+, they seem alot like a GK force so the counts-as seemed appropriate.

I like how the mini is turning out so far.

On the fluff, though: the Exorcists are one of two chapters to come out of of the Dark Founding (that we know of), the other being the Death Specters, successors to the Raven Guard.

The Exorcists also seems similar to the Grey Knights in a number of ways largely because they are their successor chapter. Interesting thing is, though, that the Exorcists are the foil to Grey Knights in two ways. Firstly, where the Grey Knights get all their special toys, the Exorcists adhere to the Codex Astartes quite strictly. The other notable difference is that while all Grey Knights possess some extent of psychic might, the Exorcists have zero psychic presence as a result of their forced possession.

Still, it's nice to see someone else on the forum here interested in that chapter.

here's some more work on the metal, and some edge highlights with skavenblight dinge on the black. think i did too good a job of making the highlights thin; the camera doesnt look like it caught them.
