Doing some Dark Vengeance/Assault on Black Reach converting. It's getting to the point where I'm tempted to start calling my army Grey Angels.

These are just the half of the squad that will stand up on their own. Yes, those are force sword bayonets.

Those are Termy Falchions sans the hand. The Storm Bolters were made by putting two Bolters together.

Once the primer coat dries I'll post up a picture of the full squad. I did a bit of a trick to have the Psycannon dudes hold the gun ala Bolter Buddy.

On a related note, I'm starting to get good at slicing though thicker portions of plastic.

I'm touching up the priming a bit right now, but this is the 10 man strike squad I'm converting out of DV/AoBR dudes.

Need to work on these guys before the winter starts limiting my ability to spray prime and air brush.

While these guys might not be winning any awards any time soon, they'll do for the purposes of tomorrow's match. I don't think the camera caught the little red dot inside of their left eyes.

The arms finally showed up for my Dread. I'll be trying to get a base coat on him before the night is out, along with the strike squad.

I got some more work done on the Dread, a base coat and heraldry colours for the most part. I built up a base for the white using thinned down craft paint, and then put a touch of water into my pop of Ceramite White to do the finishing coat. I really don't like working with the White Scar, it seems, nor it with me. I was working on the same process of building up with a base of Christmas red to put a layer of Blood Red on top of, but I generally like the aged and weathered look the Christmas Red gave me, so I think I shall leave it as it is, using the Blood Red for the Purity Seals and such. For comparison, the heraldry on the Interceptor was done with Blood Red.

Well, if I'm posting photos up this morning, I might as well post up a bit of Grey Knight progress.

Dreadnought is coming along nicely, despite magnet issues.

Finally got started on Coteaz.

Paladins, with the one in white being the Apothecary. I think he is crying out disparately for some Devlin Mud, even though I never got a chance to use it in the past. Anyone know which wash is the current equivalent?

Finally, a Dark Angels Sarg from the Dark Vengeance box is going to be a generic inquisitor in power armor with a plasma pistol.

The Dread was second hand, but the coat of Ceramite White I put on at the end feels like it might have gone on a touch thicker than I would have hoped. I managed to to strip it mostly down to it's original priming coat, and I reprimed/based with spray and air brush.

Stuck at home today, so I did some Green Stuff and paint.

Plasma, plasma, plasma!

Mortis Dread is pretty much done now. Guess who found the pot of Earthshade at the den?

Coteaz has had his roll in the flock now, too.

Finally, I decided to give the Apothecary a brighter metallic scheme.

Man, this camera is forgiving.

Finding myself no longer active in the League, I am now free to field unpainted minis! Whooo! I picked up some old psychers and a crusader over the weekend, plus I grabbed a Menoth Choir that I am converting into psychers. Time to fill a Rhino!

Pass-Back #1 has been built, though air brushing the base coat got muddled by a mix of cold and crap light in the garage. Came out WAY too close to black for my liking. At least I can put it on a table now.

Haven't glued the turret panel on, by the way. I want to toss it back and forth between the Rhino and Razorback.

Got the first of eight psykers painted up tonight. Also, the only one with a hat. I am thinking about painting them up as psykers from Nocturne.

And with his yet to be detailed ride.

I dont mind that minis.are from other games... but.. I.do have a small problem with the bases. Getting thw bases the same foe all the minis would go a long way to pulling it more uniform.. Youve got some ooker chips for some of the grey knight troops dont you?

That wouldnt be bad at all.. If everyone was the same throughout the army..

The paint job is coming along though.. Just need a wash to tone down that gold and the white.a.bit.

Ive been using 5 psykers in my henchmen squad.. It hasnt been that bad.. But the leadership is rough. And it still scatters.. And on a perils.. Which i have had happen.. All the psykers dissapear.. Plus inits get a deny the witch roll as well.. So they are a bit rough all around. Just my two cents.

I had assumed the poker chips where temporary for painting.
If they aren't and you need bases, let me know. I have a crap ton of 25 and 40 mm GW bases.

Those bases, just like the poker chips on my Grey Knights/Paladins/Coteaz, are just stand ins so I can be sloppy with air brushing and the like and not have to redo the regular bases when I swap them over. I bought a nice big bag of 40k sized slotted bases from the Den a while back, and they will eventually migrate over to them. All my Purifiers lived on poker chips for a while until they got some nice cork detailed bases to move over to. Simply a matter of time before everything is finished, assuming I don't keep starting new projects.

As for a wash on the gold and white, any particular recommendations? So far I have Agrax Earthshade and Nuln Oil kicking around here, the Earthshade already featuring on the yellow robes.

For.gold i use brown and black washes. I start with a bronze.though.. Give it a black wash.. Then go to the gold.. And a brown wash then touch up the edges. Some people ljke to highlight the edges again with a light silver but ive never been a fan of it on gold

Finished off the first one (aside from basing) and did up a hatless dude after lunch. I think if I am going to write on the parchment with a fine tipped felt pen, it will need to wait until AFTER the wash.

I am also not sure if the was of Baal Red on his head changed the specular at all or not.

For writing and doing lines I would recommend a .5mm micron pen.

While I was waiting for primer/base coat to dry on my new warband members a few days back, I went and installed the arms on my new Mortis. It wasn't until I stood it beside the existing Mortis that I noticed how GLORIOUSLY huge it's guns were, being nearly double the length. While a beautiful sight to behold, I think I will likely have to trim them down if I'm going to use #2 as anything other than a diorama piece. The one thing that has me wondering, though, is if I slice the barrels clean off at the red line, will they still be identifiable as auto cannons? It almost looks more like multi-melta or twin-linked flamer to me there. And yes, I am converting this out of another AoBR Dread.
