This is the list I brought to bear against Adam's, as he had been going on for some time about "Chaos-zilla" and "all these monstrous creatures". Given this information, I figured the solution was simple: Snipers. Then more Snipers. Then a Chariot to swat things out of the sky for better shooting.

Without further ado, Monster Hunting:

HQ:
Overlord, War Scythe, Phase Shifter, Scarabs, Chariot. 240 pts
Necron Lord, Semp Weave. 50 pts.

Destroyer Lord, Scarabs, Semp Weave, Orb. 190 pts

Troops:
Tesla Immortals x10. 170 pts

Gauss Immortals x10. 170 pts.

Elites:
Triarch Stalker. 150 pts

Deathmarks x5. 95 pts.

Deathmarks x5. 95 pts

Fast Attack:
Canoptek Scarabs x10. 150 pts

Canoptek Wraiths x6, Pistol x2, Coils x3. 250 pts

Heavy Support:
Canoptek Spyder x3, Gloom Prisim. 165 pts

Doom Scythe. 175 pts

Dedicated Transport:
Night Scythe. 100 pts.

Now, for a touch of post game analysis .

Units that made their points back:
  • Tesla Immortals (Grounded a Demon Prince, bludgeoned it to death several rounds later)
  • Deathmark Squad #1 (gunned down a Blood Thirster)
  • Canoptek Scarabs (Ate a Dread, ate a Pred, soaked incredible amounts of fire, 12" charge, tar pitted a Termy squad for one round)
  • Canoptek Spyders (Generated 9 Scarab bases, chased a squad off of an objective, generally deterred the use of Psychic Powers on that quadrant of the board, tar pitted and very nearly killed a Khorne Demon Prince.)
  • Night Scythe (Soaked fire, only taking a total of one Hull Point damage the entire game. Shot a squad of demons off of an objective upon re-entering field from Ongoing Reserves)

Units that had middling results:
  • Doom Scythe (Need to remember that the Death Ray is 3d6 not 2d6, got some nice shots off, but never finished anything off. Did lots of Jinking, much to the frustration of those shooting at it)
  • Triarch Stalker (Lost the Heat Ray in turn 1, but managed to destroy a Rhino by stabbing it to death. Ran away from the Chosen that had been riding it to join the melee against the Slaaneshi Demon Prince, soaking melee attacks for the Immortals)
  • Destroyer Lord (charged and killed 2 Oblits, then suffered from a sever case of too much gun-to-face)

Units that failed:
  • Wraiths (While participating in the killing of Oblits, they failed to do anything of not afterwards aside from tar pitting two Demon Princes that charged them, and inflicting no wounds upon them)
  • Overlord/Command Barge (got gunned down turn one)
  • Deathmark Squad #2 (Should have held in reserves longer, or simply deployed better. Got gunned down with sustained fire by turn 2 without inflicting comparable damage)
  • Necron Lord (Tried doing the 2+ armor save out front trick, fell prey to the one Psychic Scream in the game that went off, as Armor and Cover saves are not allowed against it)
  • Gauss Immortals (AP 4 does not seem to cut it against a 3+ save, were cut down in melee inside of 2 turns of disembarking)

The Command Barge certainly deserves a second chance, along with the Wall Lord, as they both met rather unfair ends really early on. When running Double Deathmarks, I need to be a touch more careful with deployment. The Wraiths honestly have me thinking about taking them out and replacing them with 10 more Scarabs and 2 more Spyders for the same point value. That would be a lot of wood working, though, and I would need two more Destroyers to change into Spyders to pull that off (all the other bits are already in my possession). With two squads of Scarabs, I would be tempted to have the Destroyer Lord in with them for a mixed save escort, but he could just as easily go in transport with some troops or tool around solo looking for Assassinations.

I have revisited the list a touch with a bit more of a generalist bent. With "kill points" no longer being a mission type, being able to hold objectives is much more required. I also noticed that taking shots to the face still hurt as much in this edition as it did in the last, so I needed to fill the air with hate again.
