So games workshop is mentioning something pertaining to 145 is coming out on the 21st. Any bets it's 145 paints in their new paint line?

more than likely.

the youtube trailer is a bunch of color splotches and a 145. which is the number of paints washes and foundations in the new paint lineup. ... all with new and more indecipherable names than the last time!

was in Calgary yesterday so stopped by the GW store at chinook. they had 8 paint stations with the new paints and a bunch of space marine and rat sprues to practice on.

first impression is that the new paints are actually quite good. especially the glazes and drybrush colors. Drybrush gunmetal went on perfect, and the amount of paint wasted was minimal due it starting out almost dry. Glazes seem to be really bright versions of washes. they tend to cover the whole model instead of just sinking into the cracks and the colors are vivid.

Overall i was impressed and was entertaining the idea of putting in a pre-order for the entire set until i went to the GW site and saw the price... $650? seriously? blah.

Some one told me that they are also coming out with airbrush ready paints. Wonder what the reviews are on that???

i'm definitely going to be trying the texture paints to see if they make basing that much faster. and the drybrushing line i'll be adding to my kit as well.

I've got enough "old" paint to finish my 'Crons. I can paint one or two more largish things (scythe, stalker).

After the initial annoyance of my 'Crons getting "Tau'd", I wonder how this new paint-line works with the resin models.

(For those who are unaware, I used a colour from the old GW line called "Elf Grey" on my Tau and have since been unable to find a perfect match for that colour. Spacewolves Grey came close, but it's still too dark. Mixing is a pain because I can't get enough of the right colour to apply evenly on a model)

the answer is of course, to dip and repaint everything with the new paints!
