So, I have this darker sand and stone mix that looks fantastic on my bases. So, I haz a question.

What's the best way to remove the existing sand from my bases? Toothbrush?

you've been using white glue to put it down or krazy glue?

If its crazy glue, you might be better off just getting new bases.
If its white glue, you can probably pry it up with small chisel or putty knife, might all come up like carpet.

I've been using White Glue.

I've got a razor I could try???

I think I'll try and scrub it off and see how that goes (if it works, it'll be quicker!) I'll try my flayed ones first, so if it doesn't work so well, I'm not out anything important! HAHA, Flayed Ones.

I just take an old hobby knife and scrape. after a few passes it comes up in chunks.

if you used white glue, there's 2 easy ways;

first method: put the bases in the microwave and heat them; this causes the white glue to de-bond, and then a little scrapping takes it off in sections.

second method; simple green. let it soak in the purple colored heavy duty variety of simple green for the night, and then scrape them a little with a knife, and the entire basing will come off cleanly.

i've done both, my preference when i have the time is the simple green method, as half the time the basing all lifts off on its own before i even touch them.

The Great Re-basing Project has been completed. New bases look pretty good, and don't contrast as much as my other flock. I think I'll save that for "snow" bases.

I finished in poor lighting. I'll take some pics and maybe write up a battle report this afternoon.
