lol, no, since you already know the list from beforehand, i'm acutally gonna make some sort of display tray for this army. i think it'll be my permanent 1500pt list from now on; i'm rather pleased with it; it has elements to help me take on a few different scenarios, and with the right usage, it can take both MEQ and infantry lists.

What colour are you doing the display board for these guys Mike? They look good, and the list looks solid as well. What is the HQ choice? Is it a counts-as Vulcan or some weird Red Scorpion guy?

You are probably correct. Looking at the list Vulcan wouldn't really fit that well.

lol, yea, its a terminator libby with storm shield, null zone, and vortex of doom. i like the doom, it gets rid of alot of annoying things for me when i have other things to kill.
the board's gonna be basecoated in black, and then i got this black-ish colored decoration sand from Michael's that im gonna try to base the surfaces with, and then after that i'll have to see how it looks and decide on whether i'll do a light dusting of grey paint over that to add some depth to the gravel.
the problem will be trying to find a spray paint that's foam-friendly if i decide i wanna spray the cliff sides for depth as well. does anyone know of a spray paint brand that doesnt melt foam? and sadly, no, Army Painter, GW, and P3 all melt Styrofoam to some degree; i tested on some scrap foam.

Most acrylic spraypaints won't melt foam. Downside is they sometimes don't spray very nicely and take a long time to dry. Other option would be to coat the foam in a glue+water mixture before spraying. Good looking army, btw

Ty Ty; funny thing is, i decided i would help beau with the tourny rather than play in this January one, and yet it'll be the first one i have a fully painted, based, and themed army ready for. *face palm* oh well! it'll make a nice display come tourny day. maybe if there's an odd number of players, then i'll play; just to keep the player count even and beau can focus on his score sheets.
Re: wysiwyg test; a 1500pt list in picture form!
I think the "glue" recipe is half and half. (That ben was talking about). I've also read that if you put down a nice heavy coat of acrylic (think junk craft paint and michael's) it will seal it as well.
Honestly for the scale involved I'd head down to Depot, and get yourself a 3-4" brush and some "oops" latex paint. You can spray and acrylic over that.

Its been a long time since I sprayed any foam, but about 4-5 years back Walmart carried a line of water based spray paints that you could use on foam.. and had about 4 colours.. I used quite a bit of the brown for a bunch of hills and stuff like that. cant remember the brand name, but it was in with all theother srpay paints.
Or, like beau said.. a big ol' think gloppy layer of cheap acrylic paint or glue will do the trick..

If feeling really adventurous, you can throw some sand in the mix and texture at the same time.

Re: wysiwyg test; a 1500pt list in picture form!
thats actually my plan; i basecoated with a tube of black acrylic paint from Michaels, and now i'm glueing this black sand i bought from there; 2lb bag of black sand for $5.
