Warpstone Painting Competition Rules

Post  Administratum on Wed Mar 12, 2008 11:02 pm

With all the premier events that seem to be popping up, it looks like warpstone painting competitions might become a more regular thing. We have some really really good modelers and painters in our club, so i thought i would put up the rules for anyone who might be interested in hitting the Calgary tournament.

Competitor Guidelines

· Your entry must be entirely your own work. If you enter someone else’s work as your own you will not be permitted to compete again.
· No winning entries from any previous Conflict or Golden Demon competitions will be accepted.
· You may only enter once in each category and all entries in the Conflict competition must be painted Citadel or Forge World miniatures with the exception of the Open category.
· Conversions are permitted, but should be consistent with the atmosphere of the game world and spirit of the miniatures.
· We do not accept entries that have been made using a combination of Lord of the Rings model components mixed with any of the other Games Workshop ranges.
· Overall, the judges are looking for well-painted miniatures that adhere to the imagery of Games Workshop and its ethos.
· All entries must be personally registered, delivered & retrieved during the posted times on the day of the event.
· Competitors will be fully responsible for the transport of their own entries to and from the display area.
· Games Workshop will treat all entries with the greatest care, but can accept no responsibility for loss or damage to individual entries. Entry to the competition is entirely at the competitor’s own risk.
· Entering into this competition gives Games Workshop the right to display, photograph and publish any entry as they see fit.
· The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

7 Neophyte

8 The Open Category
The Open Category is quite literally that – an open opportunity for you to let your imagination run riot! There is but one restriction on your entry, it may not be larger than 18” X 18” X 18”. Entries for this category often consist of any model that doesn’t fit into any previous category from either the Warhammer or Warhammer 40,000 universe, such as Forge World “Collectors series” figures and busts as well as Inquisitor models.
Anyone can enter, including Games Workshop staff. You may use non Games Workshop products in this category; however your entry must be in the atmosphere and spirit of the Games Workshop or Lord of the Rings universe.
