Weathering techniques
Hey guys, i am looking for some articles on how to do the chipped and weathered marine armor. I have seen a tutorial on it, but cant find it again. Paz i checked the aussi forum, it had weathering tanks and bases but not marines. You posted some pics of weathered marines before, do you remember where you found them? Im also looking for a tutorial on painting glowing marine helmet eyes.

Yea that was a good read, but not exactly what i was looking for. I would like to see a tutorial on how this kind of weathering is done.
I think it was done with oil based washes, and the sponging technique, but im not 100%. Paz also put up examples here

I want to know how to achieve the dirty weathered look. My guess is that the marine is painted to a high standard, using blending to get smooth highlights. Once this is done i think that it is washed with oils, then it looks like they use the sponging technique for the paint chips. Thats my guess, but i would like to see a tutorial, rather than do trial and error.
