CSM-1500 to 2000pts

I'm looking to build my Chaos Marines from 1500 to 2000 points. Currently:

150-Chaos Termie Lord, Combi-melta, Daemon weapon
220-Termies (5), Power fist, chain fist, combi-flamer, combi-melta, reaper AC, Aspiring Champ
220-CSM (10), Asp Champ w/ Power weapon and TL bolter, Rhino
230-CSM (10), Asp Champ w/ PF and PP, Plasma Gun, Heavy bolter
233-Corny Zerkers (Cool, Skull Champ w/ Power Weapon, Rhino
129-3 Bikers, Asp Champ w/ Power Weapon
165-5 Havoc, AC. HB, ML, LasC
150-Defiler, Reaper AC, TL Heavy flamer

1497 tot.
1HQ/1E/3T/1FA/2HS

I have in addition to this, A termie Sorc., a PA Lord, a PA Sorceror, and a DP (the metal Space mariney one, no wings)

What I'm thinking of adding/changing.

Adding one of the above HQ's
Chosen, not sure if I want a ride for them or how I want to build them
Add a melta gun or flamer (maybe both) to the Rhino CSM squad.
Add 2 bikers w/ meltaguns. Drop the PW on the biker Asp Champ for a PF.
Icons for both CSM squads. (Khorne or Slaanesh for the Rhino Squad, Nurgle or Tzeentch for the ground pounders)
Havoc to 4 AC's or 4 ML. may a bullet catcher or 2.
Oblits

I'm getting about +850 if I try to do everything, so something has to go. Suggestions?

I would definitely try to streamline a few units. Havocs for example.. I would definitley either give them all AC's or ML.. Lascannons would be good since you don't have any Oblit's, but with the Autocannons you can at least take out a lightly armoured vehicle a turn and can throw out 8 shots.

The CSM squads should get the Mark of Chaos undivided on them, if you don't already. 10 points is nothing for an icon and the ablility to re-roll failed morale.

I have a fairly standard chaos list I like to use, but I'll switch in and out a few different units now and then to mix it up. I've always liked chaos bikes, but they are so expensive and things like fists just tear through them. However, when I do take them.. its usually 3-5 with a PF champ, MOK, and a melta gun. At least maybe they can take out a tank before they assault and get stuck in. I usually know they are going to die so I try to use them to cause a bit of distraction and absorb some shooting while the rhino's advance.

I won't bore you too much with the HQ choices. I try to use a Lord every once in awhile, then he does nothing or dies quick, and I'm reminded why he's so bad. I always take one DP with wings though, always.

A super cheap PA lord with a daemon weapon though might be the best way to go if you really want one. At least then your not taking up to many points, and if he's with some berserkers maybe you can kill everything on the charge for sure.. although if you'r egetting that charge off anyway there probably ain't gonna be to much left.

Defiler's are always good, so I won't harp on that to much. Obliterators are always fantastic, but might be alot of heavy with the defiler, havocs and oblits.

What I would reccomend though, if your going to take the Havocs, give them the undivided mark as well, to help them stick around and at least contest that objective they're sitting on. Then, if you can.. buy a really cheap unit of dameons.. say 5.. thats 65 points and when they come available, summon them off the havocs. They're a scoring unit so you can either hide them close and move them up to claim that objective later in the game. I use one unit of daemon always, and sometimes two. If everyone's carrying an icon or has a mark.

You should defintley max out the guns for the CSM squads, a few more meltas can't hurt. If you plan on assaulting with them, then sure, MOK or MOS are both good choices, otherwise undivided is also great.

I would lump chosen into the chooses one neat unit a game category. Raptors, Bikes and Chosen.. chosen in a rhino with some good weaponry, say 3 melta guns might be able to crack open something ugly. Ive used chosen now and then, but typcially as a hand to hand oriented unit and they always let me down. However, outfitting them for shooting might work better. I just tend to either go with raptors or bikes if I want something to go hunting like that.

Just a few cents of advice from a Worldeaters player. The truth is, I alter my list so much because I have one of everything in the chaos book save for noise marines and thousand sons, and I really like alternating a few things out now and then. The things that make it into every list though is a DP with wings, 2 units of berserkers, 2 obliterators, and at least one unit of summoned daemons.

I'm pretty sure the 245 for the bikes will be my "plug n play" unit. Drop em and throw in whatever tickles my fancy. (Termies, Chosen, a Dread, 6 Chaos Spawn if I've been drinking....).

Looks good to me!

The only thing I see that I'd change would be swapping out the Berserker's PW for a PF. It's really a personal preference. I used to use a mix in previous editions because you could make your champ +1 Str.. but now, even though he's got furious charge and that extra attack.. I still love a fist on the champ. The main reason being that you should be hitting the majority of stuff on 3's with the WS 5. I know it's tempting with the extra 5 init 5, str 5 attacks with a power weapon.. but I always seem to end up getting screwed in the wounding roll.. and if you ever get assaulted by a dreadnought.. you've still got some defense. You could drop one daemon to get up to a fist.. but again, just personal preference.

No agreed. I've always been a fan of the "commander w/ PW, sgt w/ PF" combo. I just have to find 9 points somewhere. Also thinking of flopping the CSM Champs, so the one in the rhino has a PF to go thump something with. I'd like to keep the Daemons at 10 if I can, b/c hey, five and five if you need them to. The T/L HB can go, so there's 5.... Maybe drop the PF on the bikes to PW and meltabombs?

I would also get the max CC weapons on that defiler. He is only WS 3 so he really needs those extra attacks. His crappy autocannon will never hit and his heavy flamer will never fire because he has fleet of foot. His only shooting will be in the form of pie plates.
