Saturday 21 or Sunday 22 game?

would if i could, but im not in the city this weekend. besides man, its the long weekend; chances are the norms made all the other nerds swear to do family crap and go outdoors. in that...'sun' thing. yech. pasty and goggle eyed ftw!

Yeah I'm up from Regina and was able to bring my army up. So If any one else is down for a game let me know.

Jody and I had not 1 but 2 games on Sunday! He brought up his IG from Regina. He had an interesting 1500 point list. No chimeras, only 3 veteran squads for troops, but 2 vendettas and 4 leman russes (including 2 executioners in a 490 point squadron , a vanquisher and a demolisher). His army was fully painted in a very nice-looking green scheme. First game was capture and control and spearhead. He won the rolloff and I chose not to attempt to seize. I prefer to go second in objective-based missions and with only two objectives it's a matter of locking mine up, and trying to contest his. The first game went very well for me. He rolled 4 weapon destroyed results on my vehicles, which usually means my guys are getting there. My turbo-boosting attack bikes also rolled a bit above average for cover saves and they absorbed a good deal of his shooting while my rhinos closed. Turn 4 I pulled off a multi-assault with one of my tactical squads versus two veteran squads and one of my dreads shot down the vendetta with his HQ command squad. That was pretty much the game. I had a squad sitting on my objective out of sight, and was all over his backfield with a tactical squad and a rhino parked on his objective. Jody offered his hand and we decided to play again!

This time we rolled pitched battle and kill points. The thing about Jody's army being so compact is that it is basically built for kill point missions. His whole list gives up a measly 9 KP. By comparison, mine offers up 14 if I don't combat squad my tacticals. He again won the roll and deployed. I probably should have just reserved my army, but I stupidly tried to refuse a flank. Maybe I was cocky after the first game victory. Anyhow, Jody quickly put me in my place. I knew I would be behind the 8 ball anyhow going against 12 lascannons, etc. With no objectives to worry about he could just park and shoot and that is what he did. This time my attack bikes failed a few more saves, and my damage rolls on his vehicles were subpar. My assault fizzled out just after hitting his lines and if we would have played 7 turns I'm sure he would have tabled me.

They were both enjoyable games against a gracious opponent. Thanks for the games sir and I look forward to playing you again!

Yeah great games Tim. It was a pleasure being beaten into pulp the first game. When that tactical squad crashed into those two vet squads I knew my day went from bad to worse. Your army has so much melts a poor tread head like me has to be careful and pick his targets carefully. Those attack bikes of yours are mean. They had to die! And your right they soaked up almost 2 rounds of shooting the first game. The scatter dice gods were for sure my side on both games.

Hey Jody, there are a few events in the works for the summer here. There's a small tournament coming I believe on the 28th that adam is running at the den. Then Beau has a team event he's brewing up, but i forget the date.

I think Ben and John are thinking of doing one of there awesome PA tournaments, but in Saskatoon this time.. and then iun Oct a few people are organzing a miniature wargames event, and I think i might be running the 40k one if the timing works out.

So, a few things happening over the summer time.

There's also the Badab War campaign several of us are going to begin playing games for in june; any marine-type or IG army player is welcome to participate, just look up the topic threads to see more details

Both Adam's (Canadin) tournament and mine are in Upcoming Events. May 28(sat) and June 26th(sun). mine is a team tournament, but I'm sure someone will need a fourth.

When I was that the den on the weekend I did see a 4 person tournement upcoming. So I put the call to war out to my friends and I'm just waiting back from one of them about 4 of us coming up there. I did take the email down of who ever is running the tournement, so once I know more info about if a team from down here is heading up then I will email him. But as of anything going on in PA for sure, let me know. There are 3-4 of us down here that would probably drive up for one up there too. Or if the PA guys have a website that I can keep an eye on for upcoming events then let me know. I also would of been doing the one on the 28th.....if only I was being fit for a tux that day! Alas......wedding tux fitting oooooor go play warhammer.....tux....warhammer..... I know which one I would like to do. I know which one the future wife would like me to say lol.
