Sooo, I have always been a fan of everything about the Flesh tearers and think I just might start up a small army with them.

From what I can tell, your strat is basically, drop pod in the assault squad, then have everything beacon down around them. Not sure how well it will work tho.

In short, your army comes down very piecemeal and has only two anti-vehicle weapons, both of which are in the same squad which arrives on the first turn when you have nothing else on the field. Your initial squad gets one melta shot to hopefully kill a tank, then will probably dissapear to any shooting or melee army that is nearby.

Clever placement can help alieviate this, but against a mech list you land, have a less than 2/3 chance of killing a tank and then most likely never get to really hurt them again.

Meltagun and thunder hammer in one squad does seem like it's going to be tough taking on a mounted list. at 1000 points, i wouldn't worry about more than transports, so maybe another hammer or fist in a different squad, or take infernus pistols in the assault squads.

The piecemeal will be less of an issue because of the decent of angels rule which allows you to reroll your reserve rolls.

*Nod* Honestly, if it were possible I'd just try and cram at least one melta gun into each assault squad.

It sucks having to rely on it, but for marines in 5th, its give me melta or give me death basically.

This list feels like a decoy... it's way too reasonable to be played by someone as cheesy as matt...

You found me out...as I'm distracting you with my completely non cheesy list my clone sneaks up behind you and smacks you with a big 'ol bag of scout flamestorm baals and a butt load of death company

Ya descent of angels will help to alleviate the reserves thing. As greg said my thinking is at 1k there shouldnt be more than transports running around, if i cant get them with the foot squad the assault squads have krak grenades as well. Oh and Seth has a str 8 rending chainsword for anti armour as well

I have to agree with the previous posts recommending some additional AT weapons. Keep in mind that every Assault Squad Sgt can have an Infernus Pistol. Or give him a Hand Flamer and swap a regualr Flamer for a Meltagun on a regular schmoe.

I'm pretty pro-Seth and think people will often underestimate how cool it is to have a str8 rending character who strikes at initiative 5!

Just my 2 cents (coincidently 2 cents is how much Tom's mom charges for all sorts of debauchery)!

Actually, Im not sure how necessary anti-tank will be at 1000 points.

My chaos list includes 3 Lascannons, 2 Missles, 3 Autocannons, a melta gun, and a monstrous creature... but I dont really see other people putting tanks on their lists and I am starting to think of lowering my anti-tank stuff for more anti-troop

I think what this army list really needs is more units, probably 750pts worth of units would really fix most of my problems with it.

Sanguinary Priests need Power Weapons since they bring 4 WS5 S5 I5 attacks.

I still can't figure out your unhealthy infatuation with Flamers in Assault Squads, your Marines fufil the anti-troop role just fine.

Glad to see you dropped the drop pod. It just did not fit with the rest of the army.
