I think I have just found the most irritating thing in the world to put together. There are massive gaps everywhere between the resin pieces and the basilisk kit, all of the cannon barrels had to be bent straight and I'm so frustrated after assembling one that I needed to vent and take a break before even considering the 2nd one! Gah!

I hear yah! It's just awful. I broke one of the barrels on mine in 2! places while I was heating it and trying to bend it into place.

What did you do to fill up the gap on the bottom at the back, where the bottom plate doesn't make it anywhere near the end of the back hatch piece? I went with a piece of plasticard, but it needs some love. I also broke one of my barrels during my straightening process. What a pita!

I also picked up this model, who's sword and the scroll work on the servo skull are so thin that they are unusable. I'm disappointed in my FW purchase to say the least.

I haven't done anything. I thought about it but was frustrated enough and just wanted to use the thing. I plan on revisiting it someday.

I'm often disapointed with the quality and sizing of forgeworld products. I bought a land raider upgrade kit and all the doors where WAY too small. However, I've got some stuff I've been really happy with too. It's really hit and miss with them.

Truth be told, I have never had any troubles with my forgeworld orders. Sometimes the odd claw or sword is too thin, so I replace it with a plastic look alike, nowing it will break eventually. I can understand your frustration for a vehicle though. Especially one so expensive in cost and yet so cheap in points Razz
If the model is really bad, send a pic to forgeworld, I heard they were really good about replacing broken or miscast parts.

It's not an issue with the cast of my specific pieces, the kit itself is poorly designed and doesn't fit the vehicle chassis. I googled for a while looking for some pictures and to see if it was just me, and all I've been able to find are guides/blogs with extensive plasticard and green stuff work to fill very large gaps. The gap in the back on the bottom is literally an inch long, the entire width of the tank. They could easily design a cast extension for the base plate. The sword for the inquisitor isnt a big deal, since I didn't really like the sword he comes with anyway, and it's an easy fix. I have to get some wire to use the servo skull though, because it's supposed to be supported by the scroll (click on the link in my previous post if you haven't seen the model).

On the plus side, the sheer size of the autocannons will hopefully make it all worth it! I just finished the second chassis and will be undercoating them tomorrow. Might even have them painted up by next Wednesday, and since finals are over, I may even be able to play a game!

a lot of the forgeworld upgrade kits are really really inconsistent, however the quality of their stand alone kits is unmatched. One of the only upgrade kits I've found to be really great was the extra rhino armor and custom doors upgrade.
