It was fun to run.

Next time around, I'd like to do a painting score out of 6, and games out of 4. I think I'd like to do more points and massage the schedule a bit.

I'll also bring an army so no one has to play against "default", and also get someone to double check my math to avoid potentially embarrassing errors.

People seemed to have fun, there was an 8 way tie for best sportsmanship, tie broken by removing people up for other prizes and then a random die roll.

The lowest sports score was 2.5/3

I'll review with Darren and see if there's any take-aways from his end and I'll get planning for a possible future event (as noted, if we hold one during the summer, we'll need some fans for airflow!)

I wasn't there, but looking at the scores I have one suggestion for future tourneys... feel free to rip my idea apart if you don't like it.

If someone wins the 'overall best', they shouldn't be able to win the other aspects too. It helps split prizes around more evenly, which is happier for everyone. Whoevers winning the best overall has allreadd more than gotten their tourney fee back, so why not share the wealth a bit (Example: Adam winning best general and best overall.. give him the best overall and then give best general to next in line).

Nope, I agree. You shouldn't be able to win the top prize and best general.

I agree with jim 100% on this one.

well best general was for the player who went 4 wins 0 lossses

I am the only player to have done that, and the next two players are those who places 2nd and 3rd at "3-1" I believe

The way the tournament was set up, it appeared from the beginning that best general and 1st place would go to the same player unless their army was unpainted and they were a bad sportsman.

If that was not the intention, then best general should have just been 3rd place (as 1st and 2nd get prizes)

Ya, that's in the mix for next time.

I'd like to do something a bit different for scoring matches, then I can manage 3 games and 1500 or 1750 point games.

Then I can completely avoid doubling up on prizes.

Best General was intended to be doubled on, but no others were (I only doubled 3rd & painted because of a tie between 2nd and 3rd)
