Terrain upgrade

Post  Guest on Thu Mar 04, 2010 12:07 pm

I noticed during the last few games I played that the terrain at the den is looking a little shabby. The styrofoam is chipped, pieces are broken, things are buckled or bent...ect. Just curous as to who maintains it. Is it all property of the den or just pieces donated by gamers over the years. I might take an opertunity when im not playing to try touch up the worst of it. Any forseeable problems with this and is there anyone willing to help with the project? I have a collection of old scrap materials but few cheap paints that can be used.

The den owns it all. I'd mention it to Darren or Al, and if you can gather up enough people, have a wekeend afternoon touch up session. The Den might have some supplies to offer for touch ups. I think it has been done before in the past, after all, that terrain gets used pretty every day by one game or another.

I'd be willing to pitch in and help with some terrain repair at the den, I agree that it's getting into pretty bad state.

Aye, same here. My skills aren't the best but I would be more than willing to dedicate an afternoon or two to make sure that stuff is lookin' good again.

As a side note, who made it in the first place? Must contact them for their wisdom... Very Happy

(and does the Den accept terrain "donations"? I love building terrain and maybe once I stop sucking at it I might add a few new pieces...)

Well as long as you guys feel the same Ill talk to the guys at the den and see what they think of the issue. As long as there are no issues I will try to set something up in the near future.

I wouldn't mind hanging out and seeing how it's done, but I'd rather not do anything other than watch/talk, I'd be prone to doing more damage than I fixed.

So I was able to talk to the den about terrain. There is no problems with making minor repairs to anything as long as there are no big modifications. (IE.. paint a chiped corner, reattatch a wall). Likewise we can build whatever we want and donate it to the back room. There are some pieces that are old or too badly damaged to warrent keeping unless they are fixed up so here are the questions I want answers to...

1) Whos willing to help out with manpower and materials?
2) What day would be best? Mnoday or tuesday? (wed, thurs, fri the tables and terrain are being used)
3) Do we focus on repair or start from scratch?
4) Any terrain that someone would like to see added? most if what we have is jungle, ruins, rubble and some industrial.

date is yet to be determined but I was thinking on starting sometime in april. one or two days is all it will talke to repair but if we want to build it will take commitment to do a good job.

I'll donate some coin and manpower to this. I'd like it to be on a sunday.

I'll be happy to chip in a bit moneywise. I don't know how much help I'll be for manpower since I've never constructed terrain. =/
