1000 Point Sisters list

Post  Mr Anderson on Sat Apr 12, 2008 11:48 pm

Ok here's my first crack at setting up a Sisters list. It's a Mech list which should be able to put some serious firepower up close and personal real quick.

Troops
10 Sisters of Battle
Veteran Sister Superior
Heavy Flamer
Meltagun
Rhino
Extra Armor
Smoke Launchers
=204

Yeah that actually looks like a very effective list at 1000pts. It's unfortunate you can't specialize your tac squads and put one with two Meltas and one with two Heavy Flamers but I just looked through the Witch Hunters codex and realized that's out. I'm just concerned regarding how often the Heavy Flamers will get an opportunity to fire (or for that matter whether the Heavy Flamers presence may discourage what may otherwise be a more prudent assault). Still, being a fan of versatility having an AP 4 potentially AP 1 weapon that ignores Cover Saves is fairly swank. But yeah, looks good. Six Faith points before Martyrdoms is also pretty boss allowing at least one Act of Faith per turn. The Cannoness-Seraphim combination is always potent. And while I understand the concept of four flamers being awesome to witness, is it really necessary considering the Immolator will likely incinerate whatever's being fired at anyways?

Yeah, the limit on one special weapon per squad does stop specialization but there's something to be said for the versatility of having it mixed.
As for how often they get to fire, well, with the Rhinos will (assuming of course they survive) be able to put them ideally within 1-12 inches of the enemy which is prime effective range of the Sister's bolters and flamers.
As for the Immolator and the Dominion squad, yeah, four flamers are awesome. The idea behind them is to work with the Seraphim to make sure no enemy squads are in any shape to charge my girls after they've unloaded. Plus, the Immolator and the Dominions don't have to fire on the same target.
It's all theory of course but I have played a Sister's player before and some of those tactics worked pretty well.

chris, if you give the canoness the cloak of st. aspira, her save becomes 2+. then, if she uses spirit of the martyr, she has a 2+ invulnerable save for a turn. combine that witha n eviscerator, jump pack, and inferno pistol for tank hunting, or go for the blessed weapon for taking out heavily armoured folks. something to think about is taking an inq. lord with a gun servitor ret. for long range, and hten u can get the liber heresius to give you choice of deployment zones!! i am tome of knowledge!

Hey Paz,
My best freind in Edmonton is a big Sisters gamer. This list looks good but do not ad the Jump HP to the Seraphim. If the HQ is attached they can no longer jump out of combat. Just a heads up.

hey andrew, i wasn't thinking chris would run her separately, but doing the canoness bomb. run her as solo, hiding within 6 of a squad, then jumping out to waste dewds

Yeah, good point about the Canoness and the Seraphim. I'll probably keep her as a free radical like Paz said unless I need her punch added to the Seraphim.

As for the Cloak, I did think of that but I'm not sure where the points would come from. From what I can see I have two options either drop the two Hand Flamers from the Seraphim or the VSS from the Dominion squad, both would only give 15 points back each. It's the same problem, a good idea, just don't have the points. Though in higher point games I'll defenetly improve her save.

Also Chris you may want to remove the Exorcist or add a second one. It seems that bringing just one is a big fire magnet. If you remove it, add more jump troops and give them melta bombs.

I'm actually counting on it drawing fire. With it down, it'll draw the enemy's deployment as he tries to counter it and it'll draw fire away from my rolling coffins, I mean rhinos. Wink
And maybe if it survives, it'll take out something expensive.
