League Format and Future
Heya guys, as some of you may know, we had our first kid last week.. thank you thank you. My time has been stretched to the max as it was before the baby, but I can only anticipate it being tighter on time here on out.
That being said, Ive been quite neglectful in my duties last league and this league for the most part, even with the induction of some help. That andI have very little motivation to playing 40K right now. I think I need a big break.
So, if someone wants to take over the full responsibilities of the league, or perhaps has some interest in starting up something up of their own, that would be fantastic. We could continue along this forum, or you can start something up new completely. Im open to all ideas.

Yes congrats on young Mason! I hope everythings going well. It's busy, but it's worth it.
Best of Luck!
I didn't get to stay in the Victorian, even though I tried.

Congrats. I haven't been around much but it's sad to hear you are retiring. Also I've been reading around the forums, and it's too bad to see these so called 'rifts' or cliques that have been happening. I was just getting excited for 40k this summer but the current state of the league seems to be draining my energy. My two friends that started playing with me a year ago won't play anymore so the league has to keep going! I'm not a very competitive player, I'm just here to have some fun games. So wherever the league is going next, I'll be there.

Or, you know, play outside the league. There is no reason to stay with the old if its not working. I think a lot of us older players have realized that life is waaay to busy with careers, wives and babies to worry that much about a game of toy soldiers. I still play lots of 40k, but I wasn't enjoying the league, so I stopped going.

I don't have anyone to play outside of the league. Where do you go to play people? And where is a place that has awesome terrain like at the league? Is there a facebook group? lmao.

Re: League Format and Future
Grats on the kid, may it be healthy and prosperous in its new life
For the league though, I find that it is still fine. It is much more active than many 40k leagues that I have played at in montreal, (where there are 15 times as many people).
However, seeing as you have been very absent, and have just received a new-born, maybe it would be a good idea to change leadership of the league.

Thats a great idea! Hence, the reason I first posted this message. No one wanted to bite so hear we stand.
I think I might just organize a playoff round so we can get rid of the money we have at the den, and then wrap up the league until someone else wants to run it. We'll keep the forum up though to book matches and dicsuss if people want though.

Re: League Format and Future
As stated in the pm I sent, you, I would be more than happy to start tracking scores while you take some well deserved R&R with the new family.
I won't say that I want to run the new league, however, as I have some plans in the pipeline that could possibly see me out of the city in the next 6-8 months. I am more than willing to help out on day to day stuff, though, until I know something more.
Regardless, after watching how this last league has panned out, I am thinking there is some sort of irreconcilable split between the old and new crowd. I am not sure we can entice them back, and I don't think they want to be enticed. A shame, but that is too bad. I like the idea of settling the current league so we can just move on.

I think everyones just getting to that point where they have alot on the go. 6th edition or something major will probably have to happen to get everyone back. It was actually like this right before the newest edition as well.. everyone needs something new now and then to keep interest up..
Yes, I did get your message and appreciate the offer. Truthfully, there aren't to many game reports Im behind in posting. I just need to hand off the reigns for now, and I think I have a couple bright, intelligent young lads who are up for the job.

Stealth- *sigh*... you know, you can actually play at the den, and not be in the league.
Canadin= I can bet that Montreal is that way because it has more people. More people means a faster split along styles of play and lifestyles. I've heard the same thing happens in Calgary, Vancouver, Edmonton, etcetera, etcetera.

Oh okay I see. I've been taking peoples use of league synonymous with playing at the den. Silly me.
