5 noise marines 4 with bloters and 1 with a blast master 140

5 noise marines 4 with bloters and 1 with a blastmaster 140

5 noise marines 3 with sonic blasters a champion with a doom siren and a power weapon and a blastmaster 200

total 480 points

just got a good idea lose the champion, and other stuff and put each squad in a rino, the blastmasters shoots the enemy squads from the 1 fire point while the stay immune to small arms fire.

sounds like a good plan, if you got the points maybe throw a sonic blaster on another marine per rhino to take advantage of the extra 2 shots

ya, drop the champ and put 2 squads in rhino's if you can, gives you mobility and a well protected fire base, use your third squad to hang back and never move and keep pounding out str 8 shot every turn. When you played me what failed you was moving and not getting those str 8 shots out... and the pressure my wraiths put on you and my ability to roll saves. The rhino's would give you some defense from assaults and shooting, also mobility to capture points, or just move around and use the noise marines assault weapons like rhino turrets.

I would suggest a slightly different approach with the Rhinos. When you faced my Tau, one of the big problems I noticed with your main squad is that its firepower is very contradictory. You were packing a doom siren and a power weapon for close in combat, and then stuck them with a blastmaster in the furthest back place you could get them and didn't move them the whole game. I would suggest you toss out the blastmaster in that squad, buy it a rhino and leave your other squads as much the same as they are now. That way the rhino squad can charge forward and wreak havoc with your close range weapons.

The blastmasters have excellent range. If you place them far enough back your enemies small arms fire shouldn't be a huge factor. Don't spend the extra points to put them in a rhino if they aren't going to move much anyways. And the amount of firepower it takes to clear the other marines in the squad until they can actually get to kill the blastmaster is alot. You would rather have them wasting those shots on the back guys instead of killing the front line chargers anyways.

I know you like the Slaanesh theme, but Noise Marines are very expensive for 500 point games. What about keeping one squad of Noise Marines, but substituting the other two squads with Chaos Marines? The humble CSM is still one of the best basic troops in the game and if you want to keep the theme you could give them a fairly inexpensive Icon of Slaanesh. Also, I agree about the Rhinos. Gotta have 'em. And Chaos Rhinos do have 2 fire points Ben, it's in the FAQ.

I definitely agree with some of the suggestions here.

Drop the Blastmasters and keep one squad as regular noise marines. Pile the Sonic blasters and 1 blastmaster into that squad and use them as your fire support. They can march around of course and use their assault guns if needed to get to objectives or back away from any nasties getting to close.

I'd definitely grab a couple rhinos and like Tim said, use the rest of your marines as regular chaos marines with an icon of slaneesh. If you can, buy one champ with a power weapon who you can use as your leader and keep everything else simple. If you have a special weapon, might not be a bad idea.. but if not bolters and pistols are great and you'll have a good assault unit. Frag grenades coupled with that Init 5 will have you going first most of the time, especially against stuff hunkered down in terrain.

8 chaos marines (100) plus icon of Slaneesh (15?) plus rhino (35) = 150
8 chaos marines (100) plus icon of Slaneesh (15?) plus champ w/power weapon (30)plus rhino (35) = 180

This gives you 170 points (if my numbers above are right) to get yourself some noise marines. You should be able to get at least 6 with a blastmaster and sonic blasters in there. Youll have a good shooting squad with an antigun if needed, and a couple good assault units.

I think chaos marines are 15 points each so 8 of them would be 120 points

Yes they sure are. And you know whats most embarassing.. I knew they were 15 point.. but in my brain 8*15 was 100.
