Damocles command vehicle

Hey guys, im wondering if there are any new amendments to the space marine codex that do not allow the use of forge world units, from the imperial armor books. In particular i was interested in the damocles command vehicle, but army builder told me it was an illegal selection.

Still legal Cam. In the apocalypse forge world book (which I'm pretty sure its in) it says you can still use all the forge world vehicles in regular 40k games.

It was my understanding that you needed permission from your opponent to use FW rules for models.

At one point they did away with the need to ask your opponents permission, but i dont know what the new apocalypse book says...

In the IAA book it says "We have suggested that you ask your opponent when using super heavy vehicles." And being that the command vehicle in this book is a rhino, it doesn't classify as a super heavy vehicle. I'd say you would have no problem using it Cam.

It's not in a GW Codex, and wouldn't be allowed in any GW GT's so I would expect opponent's permission to be sought.

I'd also expect it to be granted by most players, but I would say it needs permission.

yea i found it in the forge world apocalypse book. In essence i think that you can use it for regular games, and as long as the tournament organizers allow forge world units. The problem with it now is that some of its rules are only described in the apocalypse rule book (preliminary bombardment, as well as the wording for its modifier to deepstrike rules) so i dont think using it in regular 40k games would be a good idea.

I was just thinking about alternative hq units, no real reason other than i have always thought it was kinda cool.

It's still a decent looking model. Just use it as a Rhino for a command squad or something like that.

Just to point out Cam, the DAMOCLES is not just apoc vehicle. It is found in Imperial Armour 2. I really don't think it's too strong for regular games and i wouldn't care if you used it.

IA:2 also makes a distinction on how Orbital Bombardment is used in both Apoc and regular games so it must be allowed in them.
